1. What was your first reaction when reading the title of the story? Our reaction when we read the title was scared, we thought she really did die. We were also very shocked, that she maybe was dead at such a young age. We were concerned that she may have died because bullies killed her or forced her to kill self. It is surprising that a simple title can make you feel so many emotions.

2. After reading the story, what does the author really mean when she writes that she died in the sixth grade? Did she really die? After reading the story we realized that she really didnt die. Im now 28 and married, this is an example from the story. This example proves that she is still living and she is married. And further on with this example, she is worried that her kids will go through the same experience one day in their future. 3. How does the author describe herself before she died? The author describes herself as a popular girl. She also describes herself as out-going, compassionate, smart, and sometimes overbearing. Positive that the sun rose and set with the knowledge of her parents, that people were inherently good. That war could be stopped if everyone could just get over him or herself and say theyre sorry. 4. In the second paragraph the author says she flat-lined. What does she mean? When the author says flat-lined she mean to come to an end. Another definition is to register on an electronic monitor as having no brain waves

or heartbeat. One other chose is to be in a state of no progress or advancement. 5. How did The Crew influence others in school? Give specific examples that you found throughout the story. The Crew influenced the others in school many ways. For example; The trendsetters. If the crew wore sleeveless shirts Wednesday, then the mall would be sold out on Thursday. Even by the way they dressed or the thing they said. The Crew was the group that everyone notices.

6. The author mentions that the girls at the sleep over were 11 going on 17 then she states that she was content to be a kid for a while longer. How is it possible to be 11 going on 17? Describe some of the things the girls wanted to do that werent age appropriate. In the story, the inappropriate things they do in Not long after that night, I received a recess-note signed by The Crew. They no longer wished any contact with me for the following reasons: I was a crybaby. I was uninteresting to them, and I did not appreciate cool things. This is inappropriate because they are too young to be sending notes. 7. What were 3 specific negative effects the bullying had on the

author?
One negative effect is that they caused the author to think she was dead because no one paid any attention to her. Also they wrote mean things on the bathroom stalls and cause everyone to hate her and make fun of her. 8. When did things finally turn around for her? What exactly happened? How did she feel?

In the 8th grade, she once again found the goodness in people. She was placed in advanced placement and found new friends. She felt as if she was resurrected.
