Generation 1
1. John Henry Donahue-1 was born on 26 Dec 1847 in Ireland[1]. He died on 03 Sep 1894 in
Waterville, NY[1]. He married Catherine Brennan Donahue on Abt. 1868, daughter of John Brannan
and Mary Branan. She was born on 12 Mar 1851 in County Waterford, Ireland[2, 3]. She died on 01
Dec 1908 in Utica, NY[1, 4].
Notes for John Henry Donahue:
John's death certificate state that his parents born in Ireland, but their names were not listed on
death certificate. John was naturalized with the name O'Donohue. He died of uremia. Death

Died - Donahue at his home on Tower Ave., Waterville, NY Monday September 3, 1894 John H.
Donahue aged 47 years. He leaves a wife and six children, three daughters and three sons. The
funeral was held from St. Bernards Church on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
John was found in 1870 Town of Paris Census with a wife and daughter Anna. In
1875 they were in the Town of Augusta and it said he was a naturalized citizen. In 1880 They were
in the Town of Sangerfield. 1884 County Directory listed John H. Donahue as a Saloon owner in
Waterville. Found in 1880 Census in Waterville, NY. His death certificate stated he was a liquor
dealer.

2. Anna Donahue Pratt-2(John Henry Donahue-1) was born on 07 Aug 1869 in Clayville, NY[4, 5]. She
died on 04 Nov 1959 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford, NY[4, 6]. She married ALFRED
MASON PRATT on 11 Apr 1892 in Utica, NY[7], son of AUGUSTUS MASON PRATT and Anna E.
Nibbs Pratt. He was born on 06 Mar 1871 in Osceola, NY[4, 12]. He died on 21 Dec 1956 in Utica,
NY[4, 13].
Notes for Anna Donahue Pratt:
Mrs. Pratt died after an illness of a week. She had been residing
with her son, Harold J. Pratt of 48 Sunnyside Drive, Utica.
Born in Clayville, NY and then moved to Waterville, NY where she went to
school. Moved to Utica after marriage. Member of Lady of Lourdes
Church. Arrangements of death - Doyle Funeral Home.

Generation 2
Son, Harold lived in Maine at time of father's death. Harold lived at 48
Sunnyside Drive, Utica, NY in 1959. He had been employed by the
Genesee Supply Company for 47 years retiring in 1966. He was of
Episcopal faith. He had 5 grandchildren; Janet, Steven, David, Susan
and Nancy and 2 great grandchildren.
iv. Claude Raymond Pratt, B: 02 Nov 1899 in Utica, NY[4, 17], D: 11 Oct 1948 in Utica,
NY[4].
Notes for Claude Raymond Pratt:
Died of Coronary thrombosis in bedroom at Utica State Hospital where
he was employed in the kitchen. Belonged to the Episcopal Church.
v. Gertrude A. Pratt Bigelow, B: 1909 in Utica, NY[18, 19], D: 16 Aug 1969 in New
Hartford, NY[4], M: 1948 in Utica, NY.
Notes for Gertrude A. Pratt Bigelow:
Died in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Bigelow was employed by Utica Mutual for 21 years before she retired
in 1948. She was member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and it's
Women's Organization and the St. Lukes-Memorial Hospital Guild.
3. William E. Donahue-2(John Henry Donahue-1) was born on 23 Sep 1875 in Waterville, NY[4, 8, 9]. He
died on 24 May 1960 in New Hartford, NY[4, 10]. He married Margaret Quinlan Donahue on 23 Oct
1901 in St. Agnes Church, Utica, NY, daughter of Patrick Quinlan and Johanna Quinlan. She was
born on 04 Mar 1875 in Utica, NY[4, 20]. She died on 30 Sep 1946 in Utica, NY[4].
Notes for William E. Donahue:
William was listed as a bartender in the 1900 Utica Census. Found in the
1915 Utica Census Ward 8. Found in 1925 Utica Census, Ward 13 at 1200
Leeds St. Said he owned a restaurant. William had been a partner in the
Donahue and Glancy's Restaurant, 891 Bleecker Street, Utica, NY. He was
educated in Waterville schools and moved to Utica as a young man. After
leaving his own restaurant 20 years ago, he was employed by Gigliotti's
Restaurant. He was a member of St. Thomas Church.

4. Edward F. Donahue-2(John Henry Donahue-1) was born on 24 Oct 1878 in New York State[3, 4]. He
died on 23 Nov 1952 in Faxton Hospital, Utica, NY[4]. He married Anna M. McAuliffe Donahue on 20
Jun 1906 in St. Agnes Church, Utica, NY, daughter of John McAuliffe and Johanna Fitzgibbons
McAuliffe. She was born on 27 Apr 1884 in Oswego, NY[23, 24]. She died on 01 Dec 1981 in St.
Joseph's Nursing Home, Utica, NY[23].
Notes for Edward F. Donahue:
Mr. Donahue died after a brief illness. He had been a machinist at
Avalon and Duofold Knitting Mills Inc. until his retirement in 1948. He
was a communicant of St. Francis deSales Church.
Moved to Utica from Waterville at age 12. The 1900 Utica Census said
he was a knitter in a mill.
Generation 2 (con't)
The 1920 Census showed he was a inspector for a gun company.
Not in the 1924 Utica Directory.
Did not show up in the 1930 Census, nor did his wife or son.
