GS13-xx AS INTRODUCED An amendment relating to compensation of the Housing Center Student Association President, Interfraternity Council President, Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council President, Panhellenic Council President; providing short title; providing for codification; and providing an effective date. BE IT ENACTED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION: Section 1: Section 2: Section 3: TITLE. This act shall be known and may be cited as the Keeping Our Promise Act of 2013. PURPOSE. To revise the salaries and stipends of positions that no longer affects the whole student body. AMENDATORY. Title XII, Chapter 5 shall be amended to read as follows: 1. Positions Receiving a Salary/Stipend Section 1: The following positions shall receive a stipend:

BE IT ENACTED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT CONGRESS: Section 1: Section 2: TITLE. This Amendment shall be known and may be cited as The Taking Our Time Act of 2013. AMENDATORY. Section 7.3, Subsection 2 of the SGA Undergraduate Student Congress Bylaws shall be amended to read as follows: 2) RECONSIDERATION OF LEGISLATION a) PURPOSE. The purpose of reconsideration is to permit correction of a hasty, ill-advised, or erroneous action, or to take into account added information or a changed situation. The motion to reconsider for any other purpose, including, but not limited to, dilatory use or circumvention of majority action, shall be out of order. b) NOTICE. Immediately following a vote on final passage of legislation and before the body has moved on to a new order of business, any representative may lodge notice that at some future legislative date, he or she may wish to reconsider the vote by which the legislation passed or failed. Only the representative who lodged notice may make a motion to reconsider that piece of legislation. The minutes shall reflect that a representative lodged notice. b) c) TIME LIMIT. This motion may only be made at the general meeting at which the original vote was taken or the immediately following general meeting. The motion to reconsider will be in order at the general meeting in which the original vote took place, but only after all other items listed under Items to be Considered have been taken up and considered by the body. The motion to reconsider will also be in order during the time for Items to be Considered at the general meeting immediately following the meeting at

which the original vote was taken. A motion to reconsider will be out of order at any other time. d) EXPIRATION. If a motion to reconsider is not made by the general meeting immediately following the general meeting at which the original vote was taken and notice was served, the notice will have expired and any motion to reconsider that piece of legislation shall be ruled out of order. c) e) RESTRICTIONS. All representatives who voted on the prevailing side may make a motion to reconsider that is in order. Only the representative who lodged notice to reconsider a piece of legislation may make a motion to reconsider that piece of legislation. Final action has not occurred on a piece of legislation until the notice to reconsider has expired or the motion has been made and voted on. If the motion to reconsider is made appropriately, final action will have occurred on the legislation (regardless of the outcome of the vote), and further motions to reconsider that piece of legislation shall be ruled out of order. f) EXEMPTIONS. Emergency legislation, appropriations legislation, and legislation appointing individuals to a position in SGA are not subject to reconsideration. Serving notice to reconsider these types of legislation shall be ruled out of order. Making a motion to reconsider these types of legislation shall be ruled out of order. d) g) DEBATE. The motion to reconsider is not debatable. e) h) PASSAGE. A motion to reconsider requires a vote of a majority of representatives present and voting, regardless of the vote necessary to adopt the motion to be considered.
