Widgets configuration enhancements 23th of April 2012

Widgets configuration v2 - Objectives


In a nutshell We would like to enhance our widgets configuration tool to :
-

add new features requested or useful for our Publishers improving user experience.

New Features

User can retrieve and modify existing widgets Widgets can be labelled Widgets can be deactivated Failover can be switched off

User Experience

User can browse back from configuration step 3 to configuration step 2 Auto sensing selected by default More explicit progress bar Make sure users see the preview before clicking on continue (step 2)

User clicking on widget Configure button form my solutions page will be redirected to this page where he will be able to : See a list of all exiting widgets Activate / deactivate exiting widgets Create a new widget Note: if a user has no existing widgets he should be redirected to widgets configuration channel step 1. On mouse roll over (after 2 sc) a pop in should display the widget On header on click. Every column can be sorted ASC 1 click DESC 2 clicks. By default sort on active widgets starting with the newest last modification date

This combo box will allow user to change widgets status as follow: Activate Deactivate Delete (for now we wont allow it) Change is validated by a click. For the delete we need a validation pop up are you sure ..

If widgets are deactivated, failover should not be displayed. Behavior = 403 error (access denied).

If an existing widget is selected all its attributes are reloaded in the configuration screens (1/2) If an existing widget doesn'tt have a label we use the config_id. Modifications are not saved until step 2 continue button Modify the progress bar so it is more visible and consistent with sign up progress bar

User can define a label for new widgets. If a label is not define will use and display Widget template Config ID

Automatic is selected by default

Change the refresh link text Create a back button to step 1, make the continue button smaller, modifications made to an existing widgets will be saved on continue and save on click
