The degree will be awarded by the host university in which learning center the student is admitted. What is CMU's role? CMU supports in designing the curriculum, course content creation, and faculty training. Tell us about placements at MSIT? Placement record for MSIT graduates of all the previous batches is near 100%. Students managed to bag the best jobs during the campus placements held. Which learning center is better? MSIT course is conducted in a similar fashion at all learning centers and quality faculty is provided by CIHL to all the learning centers. Is there hostel facility? Availability of hostel facility depends on the learning center. What is learning by doing pedagogy? MSIT's 'learning by doing' pedagogy is to learn by solving real world problems. Concepts are assimilated through practical deduction. Each course is broken into modules and offered as a project to be worked on. About MSIT
The MSIT programme was started in 2001. MSIT (Master of Science in Information Technology) is an innovative multi-university interdisciplinary post-graduate programme. MSIT programme is being offered by Consortium of Institutions of Higher Learning (CIHL), formed by the Universities in Andhra Pradesh and in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), Pittsburgh, USA. Students are admitted to the Learning Centers at International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-H), Hyderabad, School of IT, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), College of Engineering, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) and College of Engineering, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur (JNTUA).

The Consortium of Institutions of Higher Learning (CIHL) was incorporated by the Government of Andhra Pradesh vide GO Ms No. 25 dated 28.05.2002 and GO.Ms. No. 69 dated 06.09.2002 issued by higher Education (UE-II) Department and the Society was established by AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) which is a statutory body of Government of Andhra Pradesh where the Universities are the members.
