March Events From the CO & COB

From the depths of the sea, greetings! LOUISIANA is currently serving on the frontlines of our nations defense and executing her tasking with precision and with a high level of pride and professionalism. We have been busy, our schedule has been demanding and the men onboard have answered with unmatched drive and dedication. The technical abilities of our Sailors have ensured LOUISIANA has remained at sea to accomplish her mission. Auxiliary, Electrical and Rector Control Divisions have completed critical at sea repairs that have drawn accolades from both Squadron 17 and COMSUBGRU Nine. The efforts of these divisions have placed LOUISIANA as the best of the best on Bangors waterfront! The professional betterment of our Sailors has been profound. We have seen nearly a 25% increase of qualifications ship-wide. Over 8 Sailors have qualified supervisory watches. Thus far CS3 Daycamat, MT3 Weber and STSSN Whorton have earned their Silver Dolphins with many other junior Sailors closing in on this milestone. LTjg Webster earned his Gold Dolphins with several other junior officers also closing in on their goals. We have had several crew members check onboard: EM3 Horn, MT3 Smith, MTSN Baker and CSSN Villsnueva. Help me welcome them and their families to our ship and as well as to wish fair winds and following seas to ET2 Hillson, LT Schwarzbart and FTC Kahn. We wish them and their families the best of luck in their subsequent tours. LOUISIANA maybe away from her homeport, but our resources are always available to you through our Ombudsmen, Alexis Fox and Miranda Tagaloa. These ladies, coupled with the Family Support Group, are dedicated to providing answers to your questions and providing support to our families. Please feel free to contact them, or even lend a hand. Until next time, we wish you all well.
