Camera Work
The camera work in this lm is very simplistic which appeals the social realism genre. The lm has a motif of Jimmy sitting talking at the camera which is set out in webcam style of lming which has the effect of making the monologue by Jimmy about his life seem more personal and real. therefore, having the effect of the audience feeling sympathy towards Jimmy. The lm also features long shots to show Jimmy boxing in the gym, these variations in shots keep the audience interested and wanting to watch on. They have also been used by the directors simply to show the audience the setting of the lm.

The whole lm is set in a monochrome colour which implies that Jimmy is riddled with guilt and colour has been taken from his life after the murder he committed. This use of colour scheme to reect emotion is a technique that we are interested in using for our lm as it an effective way of conveying emotion.

Sound
The non-diegetic sounds set the mood for this lm. the back in track is of a slow tempo and creates a reective mood in lm which ties in to the reective nature this lm possesses. The dialogue creates a synergy between the non diegetic sounds and the story line as, the language and dialouge used reects regret and deep thought, he says He didnt deserve that, he didnt deserve to die lamenting that Jimmy has had years to think about what he has done in prison and has decided he didnt deserve to die. However, this presents a controversial argument within the audience as it justice enough just to feel remorse?

Mis-en-scene
The setting is based in an empty boxing gym, where by Jimmy is
the only one using it, suggesting that Jimmy feels isolated within his thoughts but also literally, his family have been broken up as a result of him. The boxing gym as a setting is also signicant as it signies a place where Jimmy can ght out his frustration and anger at himself for doing what he done. The use of the prop of a locker at the end of the lm by which he locks his gym kit within it implies that Jimmy has locked away the thoughts of that night and is trying to move on in his life.
