UsermeansanyindividualwhohasbeenissuedauseraccountbytheDivisionZ InformationTechnologyDepartment. UserAccountmeansapprovaltoaccesstheDivisionZnetworkhasbeengranted. 1.0 Policy 1.1 Filters DivisionZiscommittedtoteachingexcellenceandstudentengagement.Inorder toachievethis,wehavetheleastrestrictiveinternetfilteringpossible.Students areabletoresearchwithverylimitedrestrictions.Filteringincludesthefollowing: blockingofpornographic(XXX)sites,searchenginesandimagesgamblingsites andsitesthatareconsideredtospreadmessagesofhateorracism.Students

Useraccountsareintendedtobeusedinaprofessionalmannerfortheeducationof ourstudents.Anyperson(s)usingDivisionZperipherals,ITresources,and/ormaterial forcommercialgain,illicitorillegalactivities,and/ordisseminationofprivileged informationisstrictlyprohibitedandwillresultinsuspensionofprivileges.Aswellas possiblefurthersanctionsand/orcriminalcharges.Refertosection3.0formore information 2.1 StaffAccounts AsastaffmemberofDivisionZ,youareaffordedmoreaccesstosensitive informationthanthestudents.Assuch,undernocircumstancesshouldstudents ornonstudentsbeallowedtouseyouraccount.Thisistoinsuretheprivacyand safetyofourstaffandstudentsisprotected. 2.2 StudentAccounts AsastudentofDivisionZ,youhavethePRIVILEGEofaccesstotheIT Resources.Youareresponsibleforthesecurityofthenetworkandensuringits appropriateuse. AcceptableUse UsageofITResourcesmustbeforeducationalorprofessionalpurposesonly.It shouldnotbeusedfordisruptiveorunauthorizedpurposes,norinanymannerthat violatesanylaw,regulation,policyorprocedure.Theserestrictionsapplytoall technologybelongingtoDivisionZandthatbroughtinforuseonDivisionZproperty. 3.2 disclosingpasswordsorotherpersonalaccesscodes 3.3 sendingunwantedmessages,spam,chainlettersoradvertisements 3.4 copying,removing,and/ordistributingofsoftware,dataorequipmentbelongingto DivisionZ 3.5 accessingordistributingmaterialdeemeddiscriminatory,obscene,abusive, derogatory,harassingorotherwiseoffensive 3.6 useofITResourcesforprofitorcommercialgainand 3.7 attemptingtocircumventsecurityprotocolsandfiltersonanysystemornetwork. 4.0 ConsequencesofUnacceptableUse ViolationoftheDivisionZAcceptableUsePolicymayresultintherestriction, suspensionorcancellationofaccessprivilegesandmayresultinotherdisciplinary action,civilliabilityorcriminalprosecutionbytheappropriateauthorities. 4.1 Shouldunacceptableusageoccur,DivisionZmaytemporarilyrevokeorrestrict UserAccountaccessprivilegesofanyUserpendingfurtherinvestigation. 4.2 Ifaninvestigationconcludesthataviolationofthisusagepolicyhasoccurred,the Usermayhavetheiraccountrestricted,suspendedorrevokedandtheauthorities maybecontacted. 4.2.1 Inthecaseofstudents,disciplinarymeasureswilloccurasoutlinedinthe CodeofStudentConductor 4.2.2 Inthecaseofemployees,themattermaybereferredforwardfor disciplinaryactioninaccordancetoapplicablecollectiveagreementsand humanresourcepolicies.
