P&C Meeting Minutes Tuesday 26th February 2013 6.

30pm Present: Phil Irvine, Salam Kavvalos, Anastasia Polites, John Horner, Ki Jeong Song, Emily Bae, Sefo Koroivatu, Parents/Caregivers Apologies: Sarah Jones, Angela Song Principal's Report: NAPLAN results During March 2013 'My School' results for NAPLAN will be available. The state of NSW has highest participation rate of non English background students. Preview shown during meeting shows that Campsie Public School results have been steadily improving over the last 7 years and this is alongside the many extracurricular activities/events students of the school are involved in such as sporting, music and language programs. Results show CPS students are strong in Spelling and Numeracy topics but low in the topics of Grammar and Reading. Wi-Fi is now available throughout school, students will now be able to bring their Android/iOS devices to school to use in class. Policy protocol will be sent out to parents. One goal that P&C may like to contribute is to get soft matting in playground under COLA, better for students during morning announcements and safer for students when playing sport. Canteen Orders School plans to make available an online canteen order service soon, date TBA Online orders are to be made before 9am for that day's order to go through. Will also see if its possible to also order school winter uniforms through same system. School App CPS has had an App available for smart devices (android/iOS phones/tablets) since late last year. For those who have already installed please update as there is now a newsletter tab available. For those who do not have the app, find in your App Store: App Name: Campsie Public School (by Arinum Solutions Pty Ltd) Category: Education username: community password: campsie The school also plans to start a Twitter account. Date TBA This year sees one of the highest enrolments, exceeding 700 students, which means more funding and resources for school and students. SRC Agenda Salam Kavvalos stage 3 Teacher is the SRC P&C Liasion Co-ordinator. Introduction to what is SRC and their next event: Harmony Day on Thursday 21st March 2013 Proposal: Would P&C like to participate in organizing & fundraising by selling breakfast or morning tea. Agreed by both SRC and P&C committee to also run an Art Competition with theme from Harmony Day: Many Stories-One Australia Subcommittee: Ki Jeong Song & Emily Bae to liaise with SRC.

Suggestion put forward in addition to sausage sizzle, organise a raffle invite community to participate. -P&C committee to meet to organise meeting dates for the rest of year.
