Queen PSA 502 out of 35 robberies have closed about 24. Added officers to Edgewood led to reduction in robberies. Gentleman asked about Edgewood Michael Henderson asked about bike trail Sgt. said trail has bad lighting and fences are in disrepair. MPD not allowed to use their cars on the trail (bikes only). Holes in the fence will not be repaired (because will just be cut again). Please ride trail in pairs and be aware. Marshall Phillips asked if any items had been recovered. Resident asked about patrols in the neighborhoods. Approval of Agenda Commissioner Quinn motion to approve agenda. 2nd. DC water project will take 4-5 acres of the site to enhance water infrastructure. DC Water will temporarily store large amount of water. Will eventually have 10 times the regulated amount (will store millions of gallons of water) Increase permeability Preserve one third of the tripartite 6.2 acre Public Park. Includes Community Rec Center Create a one-acre park at cell 14 Top third medical office buildings Middle third housing, grocery store Bottom third is public space Will be Ohlmstead walk around the perimeter She went into some details about the park Will be interesting plantings and art works Will have a playground and a water spray ground Will have a waterfall Will have indoor pool fitness room with all kinds of health equipment They will come back in the coming months and wow us with the cool building drawings No longer one building dedicated to affordable/senior housing, will be mixed throughout every residential component Hearing will be on March 28 (HPRB Hearing). Record will be open. DC Water will present their plan and the Board wants VMP to be heard in that same hearing. Zoning/Building Design will follow Community Meeting Saturday April 27th to roll out the building concepts (houses, offices, community center, etc). Commissioner Quinn asked if the non-functional pond could be reduced because you cant swim in it. Also did they check if neighbors on Channing still want an amphitheater on their street (noise). And is there an entry point on Channing along north capital street. Yes there will be an entrance around the center of Channing Street. Marshall Phillips asked if VMP asked engineers if this project is sound and about sound carrying over to the hospital Site is 25 acres new central park is 6.2 acres plus 2 acres of open space (=8.2 acres) and the service courts are 1.8 acres 48% of the site is open space and 20 acres of underground built space awesome caverns, only one acre of that is guaranteed (cell 14). 100 units will be work force housing. Inclusionary zoning requires 30%, 50% and 80% of area median income. This complies. 40,000 dollars is 80% AMI; workforce is 100 and 120 % AMI which is about market rate. DC Office of Aging and Disability Resource Center Looking at folks holistically (health, age, etc). Strategic plan has 4 goals Age friendly and age in place Every senior linked to appropriate services Seniors have access to meals and physical activity Create and strengthen senior services Seniors use the information resource center a lot Place patients at the center of decision-making home health care is in place, etc.
Goal by end of year is to come up with universal discharge agreement If you have 8 or more persons meeting they will come to your meeting/workshop Lifespan Respite They do things that give folks fresh ideas so that the help does not get burned out. Sometimes pair caregivers so that they can collaborate give each other helpful tips Please give seniors you know this information Options counseling they may stay at home or at another location; make an individualized plan New Programs Ambassadors call INA 202-724-5622. Provides you with more details than what they have tonight Senior Friends program pilot with local preschools, looking for volunteers. Intergenerational Collaboration with the Youth Build Charter School. Seniors that live in DC 60 and over or with disabilities if they need painting the students will do it; the program is licensed bonded and insured; they do great work. You pay for all supplies. Can only do first floor (outside and inside) Symposium for seniors in May. Please visit website Commissioner Robinson Paul asked about where the center is and do they offer transportation (yes). Just call Model Cities and let them know. Five days a week. Commissioner Christy Davis HSVP H Street Community Development Corp Project is at the vacant lot 2321 4th Street NE Update on the progress: 116 units, pursuing 4% tax credits. Doubled the parking, reduced the size of the building. Reduced to 5 floors; workforce housing rents will average 1250 per month. 1400 highest rent. 4 studios, 4 3-bedrooms, 70 one-bedrooms; 32 2-bedroom. Architecture same. Going for singles and smaller families. 32 parking spaces plus a few extras for the folks who work in the retail spaces. Will be a bike share stop close by. Neighborhood oriented retail. Commissioner Robinson Paul asked what happened to senior housing Commissioner Davis said folks she spoke to are excited about this and its less than a lot of things in DC Commissioner Pinkney named some places that cost more than this location Marshall Phillips asked if rents will be raised later; these rents are limited by the average median income for the Washington DC area. They can never raise rents to market levels (unlike RI Row) They are applying for funding should know by August. Maybe complete building by 2015 but there are many things that could stop the project Quinta Martin asked what is the average square feet and what is the parking Sq footage studios 362, 1 bedrooms are 500-600 sq feet, 3 beds are about 840-900 sq feet. Parking residents of this building will not be eligible for residential parking passes and parking ratio is more than sufficient according to DDOT Commissioner Davis motion to support the 4th street development 2nd Motion passed unanimously Mayors Office Serve DC Support AmeriCorps 2 million in grants

Commissioner Pinkney suggested they speak to neighborhood historian Commissioner Quinn asked them to come to her SMD meeting for community input; asked them to bring ideas to her SMD Historic Landmark ANC 5E05 57 N Street NW Commissioner Robinson-Paul Resolution 2 ANC meetings and an SMD meeting were held to inform community. ANC 5E05 was unanimous. Hearing is March 23rd. Commissioner Robinson-Paul motion to support what was the site for historic preservation; 2nd. Commissioner Pinkney mentioned a typo, which will be corrected. Motion passed unanimously Treasurers Report Commissioner Mueller Balance was -$120.32. yourself
but
it
can
only
be
used
for
ANC
business
and
when
Commissioner
steps
down
it
must
be
turned
over
to
ANC

on
some

and
plants
but
cant
buy
me

laptop
you
are
sick.

and

their

has
been
contacted.
Letter
said
the
situation
will
be
monitored.
