1. Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between Department Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat & National Informatics Centre , Department of IT, Government oflndia dated 12.11.2008

Preamble:The Science & Technology Department, Government of Gujarat has signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) read at 1 above with the National Informatics Centre, Department of Information Technology, Government of India for Management of State/ Mini Data,. Centers, GSWAN and associated e-Governance Infrastructure Services 2. Government of Gujarat has set up a State Data Center at Gandhinagar under the State Data Center scheme of Government of India & Mini Data Centers at regional level (i.e at Mahesana, Rajkot, Vadodra & Surat) in the state at its own initiative , Gujarat State Wide Area Network (GSWAN) has been implemented with the support under SWAN scheme of Government of India & the Common Services Centers (CSCs) has been implemented for making the availability of citizen centric applications to the common people of Gujarat , which have now resulted into the creation of a robust eGovernance infrastructure and services in the state. 3. All such components of e-Governance infrastructure in the state such as SDC , SWAN, CSCs, NICNET (Nation - Wide Computer - Communication Network) , DR (Disaster Recovery) Center, and public data networks from ISPs will require to be integrated into a unified and secure cyber space for e-governance activities of the state.
4. Government of Gujarat realize that the management of these components of eGovernance infrastructure is a complex task and requires creation of an institutional framework to manage strategic control of such initiatives within the Government framework.

5. Government of Gujarat and NIC have expressed the desire to collaborate & create such an institutional framework for managing SDC, Mini Data Centers , GSWAN, CSC and other related e-Governance infrastructure in the state of Gujarat as decided by the State Government from time to time ,

Resolution:-

After c areful consideration on the view and the facts mentioned in preamble the Government has decided to form an e-Governance Infrastructure Management Committee (EGIMC) for Management of all administrative and technical aspects of the e -Gove rnance Infrastructure at the state level. The constitution of the EGIMC is as follows

2. The committee will strategically oversee the State Data Center, State Wide area Network and Electronic Service Delivery Infrastructure in the state.
3. The committee is responsible for guiding the Apex Committee formed vide GR. No . Goi-2005-7-IT dated 07.05.2005 for taking the policy level decisions.

4. The committee is for all aspects related to management of e-Governance infrastructure in the state.

5. The committee empowered to define roles & responsibilities of various stake holders including contracted agencies assigned for the management of e -Governance infrastructure in the state.
