Living with Social Networking

Dr.T.V.Rao MD
A time to think on issues related to Social Networking, recent past has shown many achievements and controversies associated with freedom of speech and expressing many heart felt feelings expressed on our Social networking sites. The question arises whether we are aware of what we are doing and consequences of exposing inner feelings to others. Facebook and Twitter have become an integral part of how we communicate and express ourselves in the 21st century. On the micro-level, your friends may be using Facebooks nuances to plan you a surprise birthday party or your achievement, and many forgotten friends are added to your account. But on the macro level it has brought every ones right to be equal to others, and many Governments are feared on this issue as it may cause social unrest as happened in Egypt. I made enquired with students what they feel about Social networking many feel is a break to their tough and many times boring education. But youre asking yourself, without Facebook, what would I do for study breaks? Studies show that the best kind of break to take when faced with mental fatigue is to change to a different cognitive task or even to a physical one. Let us think when there was no FACEBOOK or Twitter when you had nothing to do, you found something to do. You didnt just stare at walls, and not an idealistic gossiper; you went out and learned a new hobby, or you may have stayed in and read small story and listened to Radio or watch a film. But with Facebook and all its temptations, you effectively accomplish nothing. Maybe thats why the youth of this generation are very much unskilled. Many parents are worried to keep the children in order; however the people can be regulated and educated on the role of Social networking, to check Facebook only so much as it needs to be checked for you to stay updated with social and global events. Theres really no legitimate excuse for checking it every hour. Many educationalists are worried about FACEBOOK addiction, however it can be put to halt with check Facebook only so much as it needs to be checked for you to stay updated with social and global events. Theres really no legitimate excuse for checking it every hour. Nothing changes in the world or your friends change their attitude towards you in few hours. Today it is understood Life without skills make you lazy and non-productive the question arises who will employ you for a constructive work. Why FACEBOOK is so much successful that you need not search Internet for many matters, with the availability of Smartphones, your society is embedded in you mobile, however many events are imposed on you, as different psychologies are playing with your LIFE. FACEBOOK and Twitter made us, to know that we are alive and active to communicate what is happening in LIFE, for GOOD or BAD? Dr.T.V.Rao MD Professor of Microbiology; email doctortvrao@gmail.com
