J of herbs spices and med plants Instructions for Authors

Submission of Manuscripts Please send your manuscript as a Word attachment to craker@pssci.umass.edu. The manuscript should be double-spaced (including endnotes and references) and, except for review articles, a maximum of 20 typed pages. Leave one-inch margins on all four sides. Submit two cover pages, one that contains only the manuscript title (used for anonymous refereeing) and a second that includes the manuscript title, authors, author affiliations and mailing addresses, and a notes section indicating professional titles of authors, an email address for the corresponding author, and any acknowledgements. Each original and review article must have an ABSTRACT of about 100 words and KEYWORDS (not used in the title) for indexing purposes. Each page of the manuscript must be consecutively numbered. Be consistent in use of abbreviations, terminology, and reference citing throughout the manuscript. If your paper is accepted (contingent upon changes that are mandated by referees and/or members of the Editorial Board) you are responsible for all revisions and the return of your revised manuscript to the Editor. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere nor submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher. Prior to publication, all accepted papers are edited for style and grammar by Taylor & Francis's editors. References References should appear at the end of the article in the Chicago style. All references must be cited in the text, tables, or figures. References should be in alphabetical order, numbered, and double-spaced. Examples: Journal: Singh, V. and R.K. Premanath. 1992. Some useful Cassia in India. J. Econ. Text. Bot. 10: 29-54.

Illustrations Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:

Color Illustrations Color illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in color art reproduction. Color art can be purchased for online only conversion and reproduction or for print + online reproduction. Color reprints can only be ordered if print + online reproduction costs are paid. Rates for color art reproduction are: Online Only Reproduction: $225 for the first page of color; $100 per page for each of the next three pages of color. A maximum charge of $525 applies. Print + Online Reproduction: $900 for the first page of color; $450 per page for the next three pages of color. A custom quote will be provided for articles with more than 4 pages of color. Tables and Figures Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, in a separate file. In the text file, skip extra lines and indicate where these figures are placed. For final hardcopy submission, tables and figures should be on disk or CD-ROM accompanying your manuscript. Proofs

Page proofs are sent to the designated author using Taylor & Francis' Central Article Tracking System (CATS). They must be carefully checked and returned within 48 hours of receipt. Reprints and Issues Reprints of individual articles are available for order at the time authors review page proofs. A discount on reprints is available to authors who order before print publication. Each corresponding author will receive 3 complete issues in which the article publishes and a complimentary PDF. This file is for personal use only and may not be copied and disseminated in any form without prior written permission from Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
