It might still feel like winter outside, but April is nearly here--and that means it's almost time to register for Fall classes. As always, we have a great slate of Honors seminars lined up. These courses are open to all Honors students-almost always without prerequisites--and most provide general education credit. On Tuesday, March 26 (tomorrow), please join us in the Holmes basement from 4:00 to 5:30pm for our semi-annual registration kickoff! You'll be able to meet with Honors faculty and learn more about all of our new and continuing courses. Here is the complete Fall list: Literature -- Dr. Jeff Love, "Weird Fiction" (science fiction, horror, and the avant-garde); Dr. Catherine Paul, "The Truth the Dead Know"; and a film course, Dr. Aga Skrodzka-Bates, "America: Land of Opportunities." Non-literature Humanities -- Political Scientist Dr. Colin Pearce examines sphilosopher and others on "The Abyss: Terror, Death, and the Human Condition." Social Science -- Historian Dr. Michael Meng, "The Holocaust: History and Memory"; Economist Howard Bodenhorn, "100 Years of the Federal Reserve" (established in 1913); and yours truly, "FDR and the Legacy of the New Deal." Science, Technology, and Society -- Dr. Vic Shelbourne, "The Clemson Experimental Forest"; Drs. Douglas Shier and Marilyn Reba, "Puzzles and Paradoxes"; and Dr. Leidy Klotz, "Sustainable Engergy." Oral Communication -- Ms. Marianne Glaser and Ms. Ashley Cowden reprise their very popular courses on "Multimodal Communication." Finally, we're delighted to present the winner of last year's Create-A-Course contest, "Einstein for Everyone," taught by Dr. Mark Leising of the Physics Department. Look for information on this year's contest elsewhere in this newsletter! I hope you can attend tomorrow's Registration Kickoff, and I know you'll enjoy and learn a great deal from any of our Honors seminars. Dr. Lasser
