    Welwyn Hatfield (in Hertfordshire) Labour Councillor Colin Croft has moved to Yorkshire, but still insists he's representing his local residents. He claims his allowances as before, but does admit that 404 miles is a bit of a round journey for 45 minute meetings or to attend Councillor surgeries. Rather than standing down at the May 2013 local elections, Cllr Croft has insisted he'll continue his term in office, outraging local Welwyn Hatfield residents!

The 404-mile round trip is a big ask for a council meeting let alone answering your concerns in a surgery. As I said in the paper its a long way to travel for just 45 minutes. Ok, its not ideal, but Bridlington is such a nice place. Wish you were here! Best wishes,
