2002 Job Description

Sundav Coffee Hosts


Following is a brief outline of where to find things and the duties of being a Cot'fee Host: You will find the coffee maker, coffee urns, cups and cutlery in the island outside the kitchen door Coffee. creamer, sugar, tea bags, are in the top cupboard immediately beside the north kitchen door.

Electric kettles. tea pots are in the lower cupboard beneath the coti'ee cupboard Juice crystals are in the lower cupboard beneath the microwave oven Juice jugs are above the sink. Dishwasher detergent is beneath the sink.

Coffee - 2 scoops cotfee in the coti'ee filter for one pot of cotfee - I 5 5 cups ground cotfee 130 cups water in the urn.

Duties
S a.m. - Make one pot of cotfee and have it ready at the back of the church for those parishioners who would like to stav and visit over a cup of cotyee. Ensure cups, creamer or milk. sugar, spoons and stir sticks are available. Return the coffee pot. dishes and supplies to the kitchen downstairs. Please place the cups in the dishwasher to be washed after the 9 a.m. service. The cot'fee pot should be emptied and washed. Welco~ne any newcomers as you would a guest into your own home.

9 a.m. - Before the service make one jug ofjuice for the children to be ready when the service is over. If not already done. plug in the coffee machine to warm the water in the drum. Fill the -36 cup urn with water and heat tbr tea. I t takes about 25 - 30 minutes to heat.

2002 Job Description

Set up three to four tables and chairs for people to sit around if they would like to do so

Have two coffee filters with coffee measured out in readiness for quickly making more cot'fee as it runs through. Place a third one in the coffee maker so it is ready to turn on. Place the creamer or milk, sugar and stir sticks and tea bags on the coffee island. Prepare two plates of cookies for the children and after they have taken their fill. you will need another two for the adults. Pour one full pot of water into the drum of the coffee maker and turn on both elements. Have another jug of wa*:r on hand to pour into the drum when the second pot of cot'fee is being prepared. The cc Xe will immediatelv begin to fill the bottom pot. When that pot is filll. replace the cot'fee tilter wlrn pre-measured cotTee. place the empty pot on the bottom element and pour tlie jug of water into the urn. While tlie cot'fee is filtering through, get another jug of water in readiness if vou anticipate vou will need a third (or more) pot of cotfee. If the cotyee hosts prefer to contribute goodies. they are welcome to do so and we are gratehl. tktowever, bouzht cookies ar-e in the fridge freezer in the kitchen should there not be anything else. Please note it is not necessary to have cookies every Sunday but the children do look for them and eniov them. Turn on the dishwasher as per the instructions posted on the wall above and behind it. I t takes about 20 minutes to heat the water to the appropriate temperature. Place the dirty cups open side do^. in the rack. Scatter about 213 scoop detergent over the dishes and close the door. They clean in about 2-3 minutes. Open the door and allow the steam to escape. With a tea will OWL.. dry tlie bottoms of tlie cups and place in the bins outside the door bv the cotfee island.
