MCMASTER UNIVERSITY POST-SECONDARY GAMES 2013

April 2013 The McMaster University Ismaili Muslim Students Association (MISA) is excited to host Post-Secondary Games 2013 (PSG 13) at McMaster University from May 10May 12, 2013. Post-Secondary Games is an annual sports tournament that engages almost 500 post-secondary students from over 13 universities and colleges across Canada in both competitive and recreational sporting events. The organization of such a large scale event also serves as an excellent leadership opportunity for the twenty highly motivated and dedicated McMaster student volunteers who are a part of the PSG 13 executive team. This team is responsible for designing the event, coordinating all logistical aspects and most importantly, ensuring its smooth execution. As members of the executive team, we strongly believe that this event is pivotal to strengthening the sense of community and identity amongst the youth as well as within our association. We are therefore dedicated to producing a high quality, memorable event for all participants and spectators of PSG13. On behalf of the PSG Limitless Executive Team, we therefore would like to ask you to sponsor this years Post-Secondary Games. The received funds would be used to pay for the various expenses of the event, such as the facilities (gyms, squash courts, outdoor fields), food, t-shirts and promotional materials. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Aga Khan Foundation Canada. The Aga Khan Foundation, established by the Aga Khan, is a worldwide international development agency that is committed to alleviating poverty in the developing world. One of its most successful initiatives in Canada, the World Partnership Walk, has raised millions of dollars over the past 29 years which have funded several programs in Asia and Africa, including microfinance loan programs, improved early childhood education and healthcare services. The PSG team is committed to ensuring that all received funds will be used ethically and effectively. We sincerely believe that the tournament would be a great way to support the Ismaili student community and it would also be an excellent platform for you to market to post-secondary students.

BENEFITS AS A SPONSOR: Potential to directly target over 500 university and college students from across Ontario. Unique marketing opportunity to a large group of students from a variety of programs, age groups including athletic and dance participants, fans, volunteers and organizers. Marketing material will be indirectly distributed to over 2,000 university, college and community members. Organization logo will be marketed on select gift bag items, PowerPoint presentations during the three day tournament, program guides and website, all of which will be seen by participants, spectators and community members. Furthermore, t-shirts are distributed to participants and spectators upon their arrival at the games and are worn for the entire weekend. Customized marketing mediums can be discussed regardless of sponsorship level.

NON-MONETARY SPONSOR CONTRIBUTIONS: Your organization is not limited to only monetary contributions; it can donate in many other forms. This can include but is not limited to: Food & Beverages, Cutlery, Video Graphics, Printing, CD Creations, Novelty Items, Clothing, etc. Non-monetary contributions will follow the same guidelines as stated above. The PSG 13 team looks forward to your involvement in Post Secondary Games and to building a relationship with you. All material used to market your organization is no doubt an exceptional means to attract new business, however this event gives an additional means of marketing through word of mouth. This event will certainly be discussed amongst the post-secondary population far longer than its end date!
