IETS in collaboration with IIT, K-Yan The Vehicle of Knowledge which combines combines the functionality of a computer with a high luminosity large screen projection system delivering an exceptional multimedia experience in education. K-Yan Yan has been developed by Professor Kriti Trivedi , IIT Mumbai. It transforms the role of the teacher/trainer teacher/trainer to that of a facilitator and encourages communities to learn and understand better. This his enables group learning in a classroom environment wherein topics taught through hands-on on approach are reinforced by pre-loaded pre loaded media rich content. Being portable, the K-Yan Yan can be carried from class to class without the need for dismantling and rere assembling the equipment this circumvents the need to moving the entire class to a specified audio visual room or a computer lab, thus leading to significant savings s in time. K-Yan can be leveraged for Group Learning in a classroom environment in schools, colleges and training institutions, thereby transforming the role of teachers. The K-Yan K Yan can also be used as a Communications tool through Web Conferencing and can also serve as a Entertainment centre providing large screen theatre like experience by just plugging in the TV cable to the K-Yan K .

Compact Lightweight Portable User Friendly Plug n Play a) The K-Yan Yan is an Integrated Technology Platform, which combines the functionality of a Large Format Projection Device with a full scale Computer, and converts any classroom into an Interactive Audio Visual Room and to top it all; this compact unit has a footprint of approximately 1Sq. Ft. b) The K-Yan Yan is equipped with a High Luminosity 2800 SVGA/ 3000 XGA Projector, which is capable of displaying ultra clear images, even during broad daylight in a classroom, thus doing away with the need for darkening the room.

c) The built-in Computer is an Intel Atom/i3 processor based machine, with a Hard Disk capacity of 160 GB/320 GB, 1GB/2 GB RAM, USB Ports, TV Tuner Card and on-board Ethernet LAN connectivity. d) The K-Yan comes with a Wireless Keyboard and Mouse, for ease of use from anywhere in a room. e) The total weight of the K-Yan is less than 7 Kilograms, thus making it a Portable Technology Device, which can easily be moved from one classroom to another. f) K-Yan has proven to be a User centric Technology Platform, which can be operated by one and all.

K-Yan Features:
i. Multifunctional Device: The K-Yan is an All-in-One Multifunctional Device, being used as a Portable Computer, a Large Screen Group Learning Tool, a Multimedia Entertainment Centre. It comes with a High-end Computer, On-board Ethernet LAN connectivity for Internet, a TV Tuner Card, a DVD player and a built-in Audio System. Portable: K-Yan is a Compact Device weighing not more than 8 Kgs, thus it can be easily carried for training and awareness programmes from one location to another.

It has been specifically designed as per Indian weather Conditions, wherein it can easily run in 45 degree temperature and at the same time it can easily work in 5 degree Celsius in distinct remote locations. The Wireless Keyboard and Mouse enable the K-Yan to be operated from anywhere in the room.

5.2 K-Slate (Optional)

K-Yan Yan is adequately equipped with a Portable and Handy device called the K-Slate, a touch based writing device which is the size of a notepad and allows for a seamless Wireless Solution for Writing, Editing, ting, Drawing and otherwise operating the K-Yan K Yan from anywhere in the training room.
The K-Slate is an Optional Accessory to K-Yan K which provides for a Truly Interactive Technology Platform which can be used by Teachers, Trainers and Students in a similar way, thus facilitating Inherent Learning in the Classroom.

B. Training for Users- The K-Yan includes a 1 day training session for the users on usage of K-Yan and basic troubleshooting, which is provided at the time of installation of the unit. It is very easy to use device; anyone with single day training can use it effectively. C. Project Management Support IETS shall provide complete project monitoring for 1 year wherein a Dedicated Team of Project Monitoring resources work continuously to ensure the adequate service delivery through a Centralized Control Centre.
