I have been creating all sorts of small projects recently. The previous images come from a short series playing with text, 3d objects created in a variety of programmes including sculptris and hexagon. From there I added a series of testures using 3d options in after effects, giving a particular mood, I hope, thanks to the grunge and distressed background textures acquired from a variety of sources. There is nothing quite like a little colour. There is also something distinctly useful in the distressed, the cracked, the burnt, the well and truly grunged.

Most of these images were sourced from photos taken of areas of fire-damaged earth in a local area of waste ground. Thanks to the joys of photoshop I have at times managed to accentuate the mossy, the cracks and have been able to add a range of colours - not so much a riot, definitely a serious disturbance.

As people will have noticed I have quite a taste for those things that have been discarded. I find that there is something to be found even in the broken, the cut, the withered and dry. I am still working on previously mentioned projects - volume 2 of moments from a partially medicated life, looking at the ways and the particular moments in which we soothe ourselves and take ourselves away from the ordinary and the painful - as well as Paper, burnt, stained, torn, where I think at times about textures, digital and tactile - in addition I still may bring out the volume, Portraits of my friends as leaves, it sort of says it all in the title.

I am still working on projects for others. One particular set of upcoming music videos are those done for an old friend - Dave Best - Inner City Toad and Galactic Toad. Two particular tracks have been worked on - Coming to again and Fuck Dust. Here are some of the preliminary stills. I managed to use some very old materials made by another old friend - Matt Cooling-Stones of Halcyon Creations.
