The Ivy League Times @ Bronx

April 2013 Welcome family and friends! Bronx Ivy League is blooming and ready to kick off Spring. We are looking forward to the warmer weather and blooming flowers everywhere. This month our children will focus on: Picture Day (April 8th ) Earth Day (April 22nd ) Life Cycles Week of the Child (April 14-20th) Vol. #1 Issue #4 Brown Bears During the month of April, Brown Bears will be learning about all kinds of animal life. They will do so through puppet play and use their sensory table as the ocean. They will also welcome spring by planting seeds and making sure to water them so they grow. We would like to take the time to thank the Pre-School and Pre-K teachers for their wonderful work with the Spring Shows. We would also like to thank the families that came to support their children.

going on a nature walk to explore our neighborhood flowers and trees. Cornell Cubs B will be creating a poster about saving our planet. They will also be planting flowers for their window sill. Dartmouth Jr.

A few more things to keep in mind this month are Autism Awareness, and National Poetry month. Also during the month of April is Hug a Friend Day on the 26th so remember to embrace a friend. Columbia Crawlers Columbia Crawlers A are welcoming spring with so many activities. One activity the infants will enjoy is planting seeds and exploring soil.

This month Dartmouth will learn about the saying April showers bring May flowers. They will learn about the rain and how it helps our planet. As a math project they are going to graph how many days in April are rainy days. Dartmouth is also going to celebrate Earth Day by learning all about how to recycle. Princeton Preschool

In Princeton A, they are going to be learning about the signs of spring. They are also going to be planting plants and they are going to learning about spring animals. Princeton B will be focused on poetry this month. They will have Poem in Your Pocket Day where parents will write poems to their children. For this reason we would like to congratulate Ms. Grace for being our Spotlight of the month. Ms. Grace shares her Poetry Corner every month with beautiful words and thoughts. A special quote from Ms. Grace: Children learn through repetition, and repetition reinforces understanding. Harvard Pre-K During the month of April, Pre-K 2 will continue our unit on plants along with discussing the season of spring. We are learning about lifecycles, habitats and recycling in honor of Earth Day. Parentteacher conversations were a success. Thank you for arranging to speak with us.
