Please continue to view the blog and the weekly ASk ME ABOUTS in your childs Thursday Folders to learn more about what were doing in MATH, PHONICS, WRITING, and READING. We are thrilled with how much progress every single child has made! We look forward to watching them grow even more during these final months! THANK YOU for engaging in this partnership and for your support at home!

OUTDOOR DAYS:
It is tradition at Columbus Academy to spend time outdoors on our beautiful campus. We have decided before the year is over to take our curriculum outdoors. Your child will be permitted to dress down these days in clothing suitable for the outdoor weather and activities. Reminders will come home regarding OUTDOOR DAYS closer to the decided upon date.

Authors Tea Celebration:

Reading and writing are major for our rst graders! We actively work on skills and strategies, while also trying to instill in these young students a LOVE for both! Our Authors Tea is a way for us to take time at the end of the year to celebrate the growth of each and every writer and reader in our class. At your childs Tea, he/she (along with ve other classmates) will read aloud a story he/she has written in Writers Workshop. This special piece will have been revised, edited, illustrated and published by your child! Your child will be asked to dress up on this day and we will offer refreshments afterwards, as it is a very special event! More information to come... FYI: There will actually be three Teas (May 28: 8:15-9:15, May 29: 8:15-9:15, May 30: 8:15-9:15) to accommodate parents schedules. You will only be asked to attend one Tea. The sign up sheet is attached and we ask that you return it to school no later than next Friday, April 12th. This will help us to get you the nalized schedule so that you can plan accordingly.

Refreshments
Donut Holes Mini bagels and cream cheese Cookies Cinnamon rolls Fruit Drinks: Lemonade/Juice boxes/Water bottles *These are just some EXAMPLES of possible snacks for the Writers Celebrations. Please let Amy Reynolds know if you would be willing to help with refreshmen ts at your childs Tea.

Thank You!
