The robbers waited in their own car to ambush their victims

This was part of their daily routine every night, they would collect the money from their office and drop it off at the residence of another employee who lives nearby, next to Sunshine plaza. They did this in order to keep the cash safe from robbers who might loot the deserted office at night. Every morning, they would pick up the cash from the employees home, and drop it back at the office. Senior Inspector Vikram Patil from Bhoiwada police station said, They were on their way to the office as usual with the cash when their car was intercepted. The unidentified accused have been booked under Section 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance) of the Indian Penal Code.

MUMBAIKARS living along the 11-km Versova-AndheriGhatkopar (VAG) route will be one of the first few in the city to catch a glimpse of the muchawaited metro trains. According to highly placed sources in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), the trial run for the metro line along the route is expected to begin in the third week of this month. The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) plans to start the inspection of the VAG corridor by July. The Research Design and Standards Organisation of
Indian railways will first see the trial runs of these trains at the car depot and on a stretch along the corridor. The exact date of the trail run has not been finalised but it will start some time this month, sources said. The electrification work and the OHE work is already in progress on the 8 km stretch between Versova and Marol, where the trial run will be conducted. The trial run will go on for about three months, following which the CRS inspection has been scheduled. The VAG metro corridor is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2,356 crore, will be the first metro corridor in the city and will facilitate west-east connectivity.
