Boys have nearly twice as many accidents as girls because they tend to play more outdoor games, such as football. While we all like to see our children getting some exercise, many road accidents happen while they are cycling. Here are things to consider for their safety. The size of the childs bike must be appropriate for him. The bike must be well maintained, with good brakes, lights and reflective strips. Children should always wear a helmet and that it fits properly. Many a times children ride with borrowed or oversized helmets. Cycle paths, lanes and routes are available. Use them whenever available. Children should be discouraged from challenging each other to take to the streets.
