>>The independent city as a symbol for tourism<<

Ukraine is an independent nation. After the latest parliamentary elections in particular, the country is on a westbound trajectory. For the people of Kiev that means, above all, the search of a new identity of their own. Many of them are finding it in Ukraines traditions and ethnic heritage, as showcased in the Land of Dreams festival organized by rock musician Oleh Skrypka, or in the innovative music produced by bands such as Haydamaky. Ukraine is localized in Eastern Europe, south of Russia, with a coastline on the Black Sea, for that reason, it has a lot of tourism. To visit Kiev is to find a surprisingly attractive, verdant city far removed from any post-Socialist gloom. And, mercifully, visitors will look in vain for the standard-brand, through-styled icons of global hip that render so many downtown areas practically indistinguishable from one another. The heart of Kiev is Independence Square (Maidan Nezalezhnosti). It is the citys largest public place and straddles both sides of the Khreshchatyk, Kievs central avenue. The north and south ends of the square are linked underground by Globus II, a modern shopping and restaurant complex. Independence Square plays host to open-air concerts, festivals and rallies. It took on legendary status during the Orange Revolution of 2204 when hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians gathered here. National symbol: stretching for 2, 285 kilometers, 981 of them in Ukraine, the Dnieper is the third-longest river in Europe after the Volga and the Danube. It divides Kiev into two. On its west bank is the vibrant district of Podil with the Post Office Square and the river harbour. From here you can take a boat and head out for the Kiev Sea, or explore the city on foot along the embankment.

In the beginning, I wasnt so sure about why exactly I was reading about this topic, but now I think it was amazing to know about other countrys traditions and peoples hobbies. I hope that the readers of this article enjoy the content and perhaps the share my point of view about Ukraine; and maybe, just maybe in the future if I have the opportunity I will go to Kiev and I will meet nice people and I will enjoy that.
