The village Bant is one of the big village under Bant G.P. of Bant block and various categories of people live in this village. The village is situated at a distance of 0.5 Km from the Block Headquarters and 22 Kms from the District Headquarters. The village is connected by Katcha and concrete road. The nearest Railway station, Kenduapada is about 14 Kms distance from the village with a distance of 140Kms from the state Headquarters, Bhubaneswar and the main activity in the village is cultivation. The inhabitation of the village mainly depends upon agriculture. The village mainly depends upon paddy which is cultivated by rain water, although the irrigation facilities are available.

The school is about 0km from the Block Headquarters. It is under the management of school and Mats Education Govt. of odisha. The School imparts education for the Class- VIII to X in odiya Medium of state Syllabus and is not using the School building as a shift school. The School building is a Pucca building with asbest roof for teaching 3 classes. The School has two toilties. It has two tubewells Its boundary wall is partical and needs to be completed. There is lack of furniture for the student & requirement of furniture for the staff members, Laboratory room is not available and there is also requirement of apparatus and equipment.

The School is achieving good results in academic but not upto the mark in the physical infrastructure like class room, H.M. room, Science Lab., Computer teacher, Library, Student common room, staff common room etc. If the above said infrastructure is provided they may turned towards over school. All the teachers in the School are professionally trained. But the School needs one T.G.T (Arts) and fund for meeting the major repair in School. To reduce the dropout rate in VIII class, campaigning the importance of education, PTA, MTA meeting about the school, increasing the learning resources through community mobilization and by organizing the lectures / seminars by subject and professional experts will bring lot of change in developing the awareness of the present day situation and in promotion of holistic development of children in all walks of life.
