~ MESSAGE FROM MRS KENNAUGH ~ Our school is once again participating in the Sumdog contest. It begins today and goes through next Thursday. I hope all of our Beagle students will participate. The top point earner in each class will receive a prize, and the top three point earners in the school will receive passes to Impression Five. So, log on this weekend, and have fun! In todays Friday folder, youll find a flyer for purchasing a Beagle Rocks t-shirt. The shirt was designed by our very own Mr. Burns. What a great opportunity for staff and students! Thank you, Mr. Burns! We are looking forward to our PTO-sponsored Science Night that will take place next Friday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Please join us for many hands-on activities and displays by our very own Beagle students. Beagle R.O.C.K.S Night at McDonalds

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, April 17th. We will be having a Beagle ROCKS night at the McDonalds located at the intersection of Grand River and M-100 from 4:00 8:00 p.m. McDonalds will donate 15% of all sales during that time (both drive thru and in-store) to Beagles Student Activities Fund. For every 5-meal card that is punched and turned in, Beagle will receive an additional $5.

ATTENTION: 5th Grade Parents Schools in Michigan will be required to report the following immunization status of all children entering kindergarten, all 6th grade students, and all children 11 through 18 years of age who are changing school districts. All students must have documentation from a health professional of the following immunizations: Three doses of polio vaccine Two doses of measles/mumps/rubella (MMR) vaccine Three doses of hepatitis B vaccine (this is a series of 3 shots) NEW Two doses of chickenpox (varicella) vaccine after 12 months of age (or approximate date of chickenpox disease). NEW One dose of meningococcal vaccine (11-18 yr old students) NEW Complete series of diphtheria/pertussis/tetanus vaccine (DTP, DtaP, DT, or Td), with one dose of Tdap in the last five years (for ALL incoming 6th graders and 11-18 yr old students changing school districts) The new requirements will help assure that all school-aged children are protected against vaccine-preventable diseases. If your child needs immunizations, you should contact your physician or the local health department. If you have any questions regarding school immunization requirements, you may call the Barry-Eaton District Health Department at 485-7110.

MILEAGE CLUB Mileage club is off to a rainy start this year. Were hoping for the weather to improve next week! Mileage Club volunteers are needed for April and May to help out at the track during lunch recess times (12:00 to 1:00 p.m.) If you are able to volunteer, please contact Amy Riekse at jariks1@msn.com.

SPRING CROSS COUNTRY CLUB Spring cross-country is being offered to all students in the 5th and 6th grades starting Tuesday, April 16th. The club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. If you are interested, or would like more information, please see Mr. Szydlowski in room 214. ADDRESS UPDATE & SCHOOLS OF CHOICE If your family has moved recently please let the office know your new address. If you have moved out of the Grand Ledge District your child can continue to attend Beagle for the remainder of this school year but you will need to apply for Schools of Choice for next year. If you are currently a Schools of Choice family, please send an email to D'Anne Golub at golubd@glcomets.net stating your childrens names and that you would like them to continue as Schools of Choice for the 2013-2014 school year.
