RECAP: The Rainiers took and early 2-1, but allowed the River Cats to come-from-behind as Tacoma lost to Sacramento 4-5 on Thursday
night. C Jesus Sucre (2x5) recorded the Rainiers only multi-hit game, while DH Nick Franklin (1x4, R, RBI) knocked in the teams only
RBI. Starter Jeremy Bonderman (5.1,9,5,5,1,4,HR) recorded his first loss, allowing 5 run on 9 hits in 5.1 innings. LH Brian Moran
(1.2,2,0,0,1,2) and RH Logan Bawcom (1.0,1,0,0,0,1) combined to strikeout 3 batters in 2.2 scoreless innings in relief.
OF NOTE: The Rainiers look to snap a 3-game losing skid in home openers tonight, with each of those contests decided by 2 runs or
fewer. Tacomas last home-opening victory was on April 17, 2009 in a 6-2 win over Sacramento. In 6 games with the Rainiers, Zunino is
batting .385 (10x26) with 7 runs, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 4 home runs and 17 RBI. He currently lead the Minor Leagues with 17 RBI, T1st with 8
extra-base hits, while ranking as one of only 6 players in the Minor Leagues to have hit at least 4 home runs this season. OF Eric Thames

Mike Zunino (No. 1), pitchers Danny Hultzen (No. 3) and James Paxton (No. 4), and infielder Nick Franklin (No. 5) all sit atop BAs list

TRANSACTIONS: INF Stefen Romero was reinstated from the DL and transferred to High Desert from Tacoma yesterday. OF Joe
Dunigan was activated from the DL, while OF Endy Chavez was selected by Seattle yesterday.
Daren Brown returns for his 7th season as the skipper at Tacoma, and his 13th managing in the Mariners organization. The Holdenville,
Oklahoma native became the winningest manager in Tacoma franchise history last season when he notched his 376th victory with the
Rainiers on May 28 vs. Tucson. He enters tonights game with a 421-422 record with the Rainiers, and has compiled a 936-849 overall
mark through 15 seasons managing in the minors.

POSTPONED RAIN
RECAP: Last nights scheduled game between Jackson and Montgomery was postponed because
of rain. The game will be made up as part of doubleheader today, with two 7.0 inning games,
beginning at 5:05 p.m. at The Ballpark in Jackson. This is the first twin bill of the season. Last year
Jackson was 8-8 in 7-inning games, splitting 6 DHs, sweeping 1 and losing 1.
OF NOTE: Over the last 5 games and 28.0 innings, the Generals starting rotation has not allowed an
earned run. In those starts, starters have allowed only 11 hits. OF Julio Morban has recorded multihit games in 3 of the first 5 games, batting .563 (9x16) with 3 runs scored, 3 doubles, 1 home run
and 3 RBI. INF Brad Miller has hit safely in 4 of the first 6 games this season, batting .375 (9x24)

Coming back for his 3rd season, Manager Jim Pankovits becomes the second-longest tenured
Jackson manager. Bobby Dickerson managed in Jackson from 2002-2005 while Jackson was
affiliated with the Chicago Cubs. Pankovits ranks 3rd in franchise history with 149 managerial wins.

RECAP: High Desert scord 5 runs in the 2nd inning, 3 in the 3rd inning and 6 more combined
between the 7th and 8th inning as High Desert defeat Rancho Cucamonga 14-4 in the Mavericks
home-opener on Thursday night. Eight of the 9 position players each recorded , including 4 multi-hit
games. The Mavericks 4-8 hitters, RF Kevin Rivers (2x5, 2 R), C Mike Dowd (2x5, 2 R, 2B, RBI),

RECAP: Todays doubleheader between Clinton and Cedar Rapids Kernels has been postponed.
The two teams were supposed to start the 4-game set on Thursday but weather has disrupted the
series. The LumberKings and Kernels will play a doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday. Game
one on Saturday will begin at 4:00 PM with the second game starting 30 minutes after the
completion of game one.
