CFO - DuPont Consumer Health (2000 2002) Provided financial leadership in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment with 26 employees in North America, Europe and Asia while positioning the organization for a potential IPO or spinoff. Provided acquisition strategy, business planning and financial controls to maximize value and position for success. Developed and managed all accounting policies and procedures. Prepared annual budgets and monthly forecasts for senior management. Negotiated acquisitions, partnerships and joint venture arrangements with the principals of publicly and privately held partners including WebMD, Kraft, and GNC. Successfully spun the division off with DuPont as a minority investor, monetizing the DuPont investment and positioning the company for success.
1996 2000 The world's second-largest producer of automotive lead acid batteries and a provider of stored electrical energy solution for transportation and industrial applications worldwide. Corporate Director of Finance Directed and monitored the financial analysis of all domestic ($1B of revenue) and international operations ($2B of revenue). Analyzed and identified strategic growth opportunities and strategies. Guided the efforts of two financial managers in North America, an assistant director of finance in Madrid and eight financial controllers from different European countries. Managed investor relations to external stakeholders. Managed all stages of acquisition, divestitures, and restructuring. Developed and implemented a corporate-wide forecasting system as well as corporate-wide value management programs, capital budgeting policies, and a five-year strategic planning model used by treasury for credit agencies and our bank syndicate. Greatly simplified the European operations while delivering $50M in pro-forma savings. Centralized disparate European back office operations in a corporate shared service center based in Madrid. Kept the company viable by providing it with the liquidity necessary to operate . Collaborated with Lehman, Credit Suisse and Bain Capital to de-lever and recapitalize the company in 2000.
