Volunteer Experience

Writing Club for Evergreen Park Elementary School 2012-Current --Working with a professor from Crandall Universitys Education program, we developed a 10 week after school writing program. The program was developed as a club for a group of 12 students in grade 5. This was a rewarding experience as I was able to implement many of the new teaching strategies and skills acquired during my time at Crandall University. Sunday School teacher and assistant coordinator for Lewisville and Cherry Field Baptist church 2008-Current --This responsibility required me to put together weekly programs and activities to engage children in the lessons. to develop a trusting relationship with both the woman and her son to help them succeed in more than just academics. I was responsible for the health and wellbeing of the athletes as well as complying with the school rules and regulations for organized sports.

WORK EXPERINCES

February 2013-Current I-Play Athletics Athletics Coach This position very much resembles the role of a phys-Ed teacher. I am responsible for the health and safety of the athletes at all times as well as to implement structured activities that build the individual skills of the athletes. Within this position I am working with the program coordinator to develop a curriculum for the daycare side of the program involving structured activities and play. This job has enabled me to stay calm and think clearly during crisis situations as well as to develop a new level of patients.
