INTRODUCTION
In modern days credit is considered to be the life blood of any business. Today now business can survive without credit. Especially in the field of automobiles credit plays an important role. Due to credit the demand increases, it helps the business community. Also the purchaser is also benefited due to the various credit schemes launched by the banks. There are various banks for auto finance i.e. Public sector banks and private sector banks. Out of private bank Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India Limited (ICICI) was incorporated at the initiative of World Bank, the Government of India and representatives of Indian industry, with the objective of creating a development financial institution for providing medium-term and long-term project financing to Indian businesses. *ICICI established Banking Corporation as a banking subsidiary. Formerly industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India. Later, ICICI Banking Corporation was renamed as 'ICICI Bank Limited'. ICICI founded a separate legal entity, ICICI Bank to undertake normal banking operations taking deposits, credit cards, car loans etc. * ICICI acquired Bank of Madura (est. 1943). Bank of Madura was a Chattier bank, and had acquired Chettinad Mercantile Bank (est. 1933) and Illanji Bank (established 1904) in the 1960s. ICICI acquired Investitsionno- Kreditny Bank (IKB), a Russia bank with about US$4mn in assets, head office in Balabanovo in the Kaluga region, and with a branch in Moscow. ICICI renamed the bank ICICI Bank Eurasia. Also, ICICI established a branch in Dubai International Financial Centre and in Hong Kong. * ICICI Bank UK opened a branch in Antwerp, in Belgium. ICICI opened representative offices in Bangkok, Jakarta, and Kuala Lumpur. *ICICI amalgamated Sangli Bank, which was headquartered in Sangli in Maharashtra State, and which had 158 branches in Maharashtra and another 31 in Karnataka State. Singly Bank had been founded in 1916 and was particularly strong in rural areas. ICICI also received permission from the government of Qatar to open a branch in Doha. ICICI Bank Eurasia opened a second branch, this time in St. Petersburg. * The US Federal Reserve permitted ICICI to convert its representative office in New York into a branch. ICICI also established a branch in Frankfurt. If any area in financial services is generating lot of heat even in midst of an economic slowdown, it is car finance. Four year ago if a person wanted to take car loan, there were only a handful of loan providers to choose from. The interest charges were steep.

But the entry of aggressive new players over the last five year has changed all this .New participants for private sector like HDFC, have changed the landscape of car loan. Interest rates have been cut down to grab market share. This has made even older players to following suit. Procedures have been simplified Thus in todays world a customer is required to know why a particular financial institution is preferred more than any other. Institutions the researcher has tried to find out when are the mean areas in which other financial institution are lagging behind of ICICI bank and thats why it is preferred more than any other institutions. Every institutions has there procedure for sanctioning the loan. Since ICICI has the major market share the researcher has carried out the project in which is one of the channel partners of ICICI Bank Ltd.

RATIONALE OF STUDY
Study is limited to Nagpur and ICICI Bank car loan is the area of Study .In this project how a particular case of car loan sanctioned. Consideration the various documents required for different ratio. Calculating a loan amount and how a file is apprised

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The objectives of the study were 1) To study the detailed sanctioning procedure in ICICI 2) To study of different car loan schemes 3) To study how a file is appraised 4) To study the basic reasons for rejection
