Slight spoilersbut not really Obsidian is the usual book about a normal teenage girl, (Katy) who views

herself as a fugly kelpie doll her words, not mine. She moves into a small secluded town, with sexy Daemon Black as a neighbor, but like most YA books, Daemon is a jerk. Whos also an alien. About the characters Katy- The more I read of her the more I like her. Her love for books is amiable! And when she gets pissed off, she has no problems showing you her fancy hand gestures or straight up telling you that youre an asshole. Once she even dumped her food on someone. That being said, she either too stupid to live or naw she just stupid... Shell follow some random guy that hates her and threatens her, into the woods? WTF? Then she decides to help some creep with car problems during a storm, in a town where people end up going missing. Needless to say that it was a bad decision. Daemon- What can I say about daemon? Hes hot but hes also a dick (excuse my language). Im used to YA guy being jerks but Daemon is just straight up rude! With his only excuse being that hes overprotective of his sister Dee. Hes also bi polar. One moment hes all No girl allowed in my tree house and the next hes all Lets take Romanic dip in the lake Dee- Daemon twin sister is hyper and much to her brothers dislike, shes also Katy best friend. Mom- I dont remember her real name Katys mom is practically non-existent! There have been times when I thought the author killed off the father, so the mother would have a reason to be too distracted to pay attention to her only daughter. Katy has gotten mugged and beaten but the mother didnt so much as take a day off work, to take care for Katy, nor has she asked her how she felt in this traumatic time in her life

There are some other characters, but really there just fillers so let move on! When Daemon finally revealed his true form, which thankfully didnt look like Roger from American dad, but some kind of light form, Katy wasnt really freaked out at all. The author doesnt really show how her characters deal with stress or being scared. She just writes it off as Ill just freak out later Katy often refers to Daemon lips as and I Quote, poetic. WTF is poetic lips? Can someone please explain that to me? My final thoughts I felt that the ending was a little drawn out and there wasnt a lot of action in the book to support it. But over all I really liked the book! And asshole Daemon too! Even though I would have preferred a little more action and believable reactions, I would give this book 3 stars, its good and interesting enough for me to continue the series.
