Typically educational facilities are comprised of several different types of lighting utilizing fluorescent technology. Fluorescent lighting is an efficient and cost effective way of providing consistent light levels and a predictable lamp life for optimum illumination levels. 25-32 Watt T8 fixtures are typically deployed in these tenures including 2 lamp and 4 lamp fixtures and plug-in compact fluorescent. The lighting circuits are commonly segmented into loads that are controlled by 20AMP breakers. General educational applications including entry areas, stairs, washrooms, private offices, open office space, boardrooms and parking facilities use similar lamping types to ensure a consistently lit environment. Although T8 lighting is the standard for todays lighting designer/Architect and/or Electrical Engineer, older and less efficient T12 technologies remain the dominant legacy lamp type. Designers will recommend a lamp and ballast retrofit to increase the lighting efficiency to meet todays lighting design standards for both light levels and energy efficiency.

About LumiSmart
LumiSmart Intelligent Lighting Controller by Cavet Technologies Inc., the worldwide de facto standard in lighting controls. LumiSmart ILC is the first of a new class of Smart Grid enabled lighting controllers that provide adaptive control of lighting circuits to reduce power consumption using waveform modification and power factor correction. It is compatible with Incandescent, Halogen, Compact Fluorescent & most Linear Fluorescent lighting systems including T5, T8 and T12 lamp technologies running on Electronic or Magnetic ballasts over a range of voltages. It provides an instant 30% or more power reduction, depending on lighting system design, while providing power factor correction with minimal impact on perceived lighting output. The compact size of the unit takes minutes to install in an electrical closet/room and most importantly, for the building operator, there is minimal disruption to the occupants during installation unlike the installation of a complete lighting retrofit system.
Deploy in minutes
Installing is easy; LumiSmart ILC is connected to individual dedicated lighting circuits at the electrical panel. A licensed electrician can install the product within 30-60 minutes. Savings are immediate!
