ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES (AFP) AND NATIONAL COMMISSION ON
INDIGENOUS PEOPLES (NCIP) AND AUTHORIZING THE CllAlRPERSON TO SIGN
THEREOF'"

WHEREAS, presented to this Body is the final draft of the Me;norandum of Agreement
creating a Joint Technical Working Group to develop a hamework for the full
implementation and operationalization of Indigenous Peoples Desks in maJor services and
unified commands, between the Armed Forces ot the Philippines. represented by its Chief
of St'clff, General jessje D. Del1o!-':(l and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples,
represented by its Chairperson, Zenaida Brigida H. Pawid;
WHEREAS, said agreement was the result of cumplete and joint consultations and staff
work between the parties;
WHEREAS, this Commission believes and is confident th<lt this agreement will help
facilitate better coordination with the military towards addressing the issues and concerns
of Indigenous Peoples communities;
NOW THEREFORE. after due consultation, the Commission En SelBe by consensus hereby
approves the suhject Memorandum of Agreement.
FURTHER, the Chairperson is given full and complete authority to ,ngn tor and in behalf of
the NCIP as party to thls agreement.
