Conference Overview Globalization, the inevitable phenomenon, has had far reaching consequences in almost every aspect of our lives, and a potentially greater one in the future. Developing countries stand to lose or gain depending on how they manage the diverse dynamics that affect economic growth and marshal resources to their advantage. Experience shows that only a few Developing Countries have managed to take advantage of the opportunities offered by globalization, with a majority still being mired up in economic doldrums due to a variety of factors, chief among them is the lack of proper understanding of the factors at play and management incapacity. This applies to management at the national, sectoral and individual levels. This conference therefore provides a forum for academicians and practitioners from all corners of the globe to critically address these issues with the aim of coming up with suggestions that will lead to solutions that can help to improve the lot of Developing Countries. Target Participants Academicians, practitioners, policy makers and others interested in internationalization and developmental issues. Important Dates Abstract Submission Deadline: Full Paper Submission Deadline: Deadline for registration: Conference dates: (Attn: Dr. Wineaster Anderson) Registration Fees (the fees cover conference materials, lunch and refreshments) Early Registration (by June 30th, 2011) 2011) Participant: US $200, Student: US $100 Late Registration Ordinary Participant: US $250, Student: US $150 Author Guidelines Paper Format: Each paper should include a separate title page, which indicates title of the paper, author(s) name(s) and titles (e.g. Dr., Miss, Professor), institutional affiliations, complete mailing address(es), e-mail address(es), telephone and Fax Numbers, and name of author to whom all correspondence should be addressed. The next page should have the research title, abstract (maximum of 150 words) and a maximum of 6 keywords. Text should be single-spaced, 12 font size, Times New Roman font. Submissions of Abstracts and Papers should be addressed to: icgd@udbs.udsm.ac.tz

Papers length should be in the range of 5000- 6000 words (excluding references and appendices).

Tables/figures/graphs should be typed as close as possible to the location where they are cited. Headings should be centered for each figure/ graph and should be 12 font size, bold face and all caps.

Equations should be placed on separate lines and numbered consecutively, with the equation numbers placed within parentheses and aligned against the left

Submitted papers will be peer reviewed and feedback be given back to authors within two weeks after acceptance. Upon acceptance, the author shall effect changes (if any) and return an electronic version of the paper in Microsoft Word, as an e-mail attachment before June 30th, 2011. Papers received after this date will not be published in the conference edited proceedings but may be considered for presentation at the conference. Biographs of presenters should also be submitted alongside the drafts. (N.B. ALL papers should be written in English)
