C. Chapter 4 Summary
The purpose of an Evaluators Program Description is to help the evaluator monitor a programs processes by clarifying and stating a programs objectives and purposes. It also allows the evaluator to record program activities and processes as well as measurement mechanisms. Sometimes the information contained within an EPD is already compiled; other times the evaluator has to investigate and create the EPD from scratch. EPDs for different audiences will look differently. The first step in developing an EPD is meeting with all stakeholders. This meeting is a great opportunity for the evaluator to inform the others of his/her baseline knowledge of the program. Then, the stakeholders can address any discrepancies between the evaluators knowledge and the necessary information regarding the program. The evaluator should be looking for information about program goals, activities, metrics, and evaluation processes that are part of the program itself. By asking a lot of questions, the evaluator can learn more about the program and perform a more comprehensive and accurate evaluation. In addition to helping the evaluator learn about the program, an EPD can also help the evaluator learn about the program stakeholders. In the discovery meeting, the evaluator might be able to find out what questions the stakeholders want answered. Sometimes, what seemed like a simple evaluation might change in scope after learning what some of the stakeholders concerns are. Additionally, evaluators can begin to build rapport with the program staff. It is a good way to let the staff know that the evaluator is interested in making the program better, which is to the staffs benefit. The discovery sessions can help align everyones goals and improve communication, which will in turn improve the evaluation process.

D. Exercise III
Levels Efficiency Resources What is the cost to implement Google Sites? Activities Will using Googe Sites as an LMS save time in the classroom? If so, how much? Strategy Are current technical capabilities sufficient to support Google Sites implementation? Is Google Sites a scalable solution as enrollment grows or shrinks? Will having Google Sites as an LMS increase student achievement and engagement? If so, how much? Objective Are the necessary resources in place to support Google Sites implementation as an LMS? What are the districts needs and will Google Sites meet them? What are the short and long-term impacts of adopting Google Sites as an LMS?

Effectiveness

What is the staffs What training would be current skill set required for students with Google Sites? and staff? How much extra time would be required per year for teachers to maintain and create their LMS pages on Google Sites? Are teachers interested in having a learning management system in their classroom? Would they use it?

Impact

What are the evaluation questions?

For the administration 1. What do you want to be able to do with a learning management system in the district? 2. In what grade levels do you want to implement it? 3. What are the main reasons that you want to adopt an LMS? 4. How much are you able to spend? 5. How much work do you anticipate the faculty to put in to use it? 6. Will you require all faculty to use the LMS? For the faculty 1. How satisfied are you with your current level of technology in the classroom? 2. What do you wish you could do with technology in the classroom that you currently can not? 3. How effective do you feel your current classroom technology is? 4. If you were given a tool to make you more effective, how time per week would you spend using it to prepare for class? 5. If you had the ability to post class assignments online for students to view at home, would you use it? 6. If you had the ability to view student work online (go paperless), would you do it? 7. If you had the ability to add a calendar, videos, documents, presentations and other media to a website so that students could access it from any internet-connected computer or device, how often do you think you would take advantage of that?

What activities have you planned?

1. Survey of high school faculty (approximately 130 people) completed by 3/15 2. Survey of technology and district administration completed by 3/15
