Freuds Interpretation of dreams and its clinical purpose: Sigmund Freud a psychoanalyst from Austria gave the theory

of interpretation of dreams. His book titled interpretation of dreams was published with somewhat no idea to the public about the reality of the interpretation of the dreams. But as soon as the book gained popularity and the people started learning the basic theme of the theory, Sigmund Freud got fame. The book has 8 editions and Freud has tried to co-relate unconscious and the dream interpretation. Freud divided the psychic apparatus into three parts id, ego and superego. These three sets describe the activity and interaction of life. According to Freud, dreams are the torch bearer of our wishes upon which fulfillment one feels contented. In other words the dreams are a conflict between the unconscious and the conscious. Dreams are a set of emotions and thoughts while one is sleeping and feeling as if it is happening in actual. Freud is of the view that the preconscious is, though attentive but acting partially in the ongoing conflict between conscious and unconscious. Thus the images or stories in the dreams are not real that is why it needs a deeper insight into the dream to reach the conclusion of the dream. Freud used the dream as a therapeutic purpose. An insight into the client's problem is the first step. Secondly the entire involvement of the client is vital. The content of the dream whether pleasant or unpleasant plays a vital function in the interpretation of the dreams. The aim of the Freuds therapy is to release the subdued emotions which in fact are making the unconscious, conscious which result in anxiety and depression. the therapeutic purpose of the Freuds interpretation of the dreams involve an attempt by the therapist to make a connection between the actions in the dream and the connotations consign to them. The therapist, taking the client in confidence tries to interpret and understand about themselves. The client is always eager to reach his inner emotions and wishes to explore his unconscious. The client becomes able to overcome his phobias and emotional fears. Freud believed that the efficient role of the therapist is the sole contributor in the efficacy of the work on dream. There has also been other therapies in the psychology for the treatment of phobias and emotional stresses but the dream therapy has been influential. The reason for the usage of the Freudian dream interpretation is that it benefits in working efficiently.
