Grade 4 Overview Sunday 28/04/2013 Thursday 02/05/ 2013. Instructional Writing we are taking our instructional writing practice to the next step and using the bullet points we have made and putting them into full sentence form. We will be looking for full sentences and having students changing information into proper sentence form. This week we will be finishing up Unit 7 on Fractions. Our final assessment will be this Wednesday(May 1st). Revision packs have been sent home and all children are encouraged to work through them and attempt to complete every question. If there are some areas of the unit that your child struggles with, highlight/circle the questions and have your child ask the teacher for more guidance.

Unit of Inquiry

Central idea: Authority and rules have an impact on people and their community. Lines of inquiry: The structure and function of groups and institutions (form) The purpose of authority figures (function) The interconnectedness of systems within a society (connection) We will be continuing our exploration of Authority and its place in our society. Continue to discuss with your child how authority works in different places of business around the city. You could also discuss how certain rules of the city are developed and why they are important.
