PASS Writing (Grades 3-5)

* 2nd Student Writing Workshop- Wednesday, March 13, 2013 (conducted by Mrs. Anderson, ELA STEM Specialist). * Writing PLC: February 12, 2013 during teachers planning (Be prepare to discuss last extended response results.) * Mock Assessment- week of February 25, 2013 * Family Writing Night- Tentatively scheduled for Thursday, February 28, 2013 * Continue to utilize ALL Grammar books, software and Empowering Writers activities to drive instruction!

Spelling Bee:

School Spelling Bee- February 15, 2013; Districts Elementary Spelling Bee March 6, 2013

Voyager Updates

* VMath Module Testing: Identified students should be tested by February 6, 2013 on the pretest of the current module. Check your email for the revised schedule. * VMath Testing Progress Assessment 3 (February 25- March 8) * VMath Kits: Math teachers should have a kit for each identified student. If you need additional kits, see Mrs. Nelson. * Read Well- The Walk to Read program is on the way and will begin as soon as students are reassigned to groups and teachers. * Next Voyager School Visit: week of February 11, 2013.

* Remember, Ticket to Read and VMath Live should be used during Independent Practice in the Math block, for early finishers, in the Computer Lab, or at home.

Computer Lab Assignments

* Ticket to Read & VMath Live * K-5 should schedule time in the Computer Lab for Ticket to Read. * Study Island Provide the specific skill(s) students are to complete. * IXL Math - Provide the specific skill(s) students are to complete. * Other Programs and Assignments

Other Important Dates and Reminders

Weekly Lesson Plans and assessments are due every Wednesday. Spiraling should be evident in lesson plans as well as assessments. *Weekly Assessments should be administered through Learning Station. Teachers will pull the data and share with administrators. Mini-Bites will be administered weekly. Review previous mini-bites with students as a form of spiraling. The March benchmark will be comprehensive and administered online. Make sure you provide Mr. Williams with a list of students that are no longer enrolled at Brookdale and should be deleted from your roster in Learning Station. Family Literacy Night February 8, 2013.
