M Tech Project: Thesis Guided by Ms. Pradeepa.R, Scientist E, NPOL, Kochi. Project Title: Bearings Only Target Motion Analysis Using Robust Kalman Filters and Particle Filters The project aims at comparing the performance of various Kalman Filter based algorithms and Particle Filter for a Bearings Only Tracking problem in the presence of uncertainties in the motion model and noise statistics. The algorithms considered are Extended Kalman Filter (EKF), Interacting Multiple Model (IMM), Robust Extended Kalman Filter (REKF), Robust Interacting Multiple Model (RIMM), Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) and Particle Filter (PF). A simple approach of introducing weights for each data sample showed robustness in the presence of outliers. Details furnished in a separate document.
