Shaiwatna Kupratakul is a Thai theoretical physicist.

He is known by profession and contribution as a scientist, educator, writer, translator, columnist, science communicator, producer and host of radio and television programmes. His lifelong dedication is on science communication and the popularization of science through writing, radio and television media and public speaking. Kupratakul was nominated twice for UNESCOS Kalinga Prize by UNESCOThailand in 1981 and 2004 Chit Phumisak (also transcribed as Jit Phoumisak, born 25 September 1930 - killed 5 May 1966) was a Thai author, philologist, historian, poet and Communist rebel. His most influential book was The Face of Thai Feudalism ( , Chom Na Sakdina Thai), written in 1957 under the pseudonym Somsamai Srisootarapan. Other pen names used by Chit include Kawi Kanmuang and Kawi Srisayam. He has been described as the "Che of Thailand". Yong Poovorawan (born 5 November 1950) is a medical professor in pediatric hepatology at the Faculty of Medicine of Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. He is widely noted for his research in the fields of pediatric hepatology, viral hepatitis and virology, and is regarded as a subject expert on the H5N1 avian influenza virus in Thailand. Yuen Poovarawan (born 5 November 1950) is a Thai computer scientist. He has worked at Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand until his retirement, where his last positions were associate professor in the Department of Computer Engineering and Vice President for Information Technology at . Among his noted contributions are the development of natural language processing for the Thai language, and the advancement of information technology services in Thailand, particularly the implementation of networking infrastructure at Kasetsart. Pichaet Wiriyachitra Ph.D.,F.R.A.C.I. was a professor of chemistry at Songkla University. He has specialized in the development of pharmaceuticals from natural products, particularly xanothones from Mangosteen. He is also Chairman and CEO of Asian Phytoceuticals Public Co., Ltd. Dr. Yongyuth Yuthavong is Immediate Past President of the Thai Academy of Science and Technology. He began his career in science as a researcher and biochemistry professor at Mahidol University. In 1992, he was appointed the first Director of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), where he served two terms. Currently, he works on the development of antimalarial drugs at the NSTDAs National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. Prof. Yodhathai Thebtaranonth obtained his bachelor and master degrees from the University of Medical Science (now Mahidol University ). He completed his Ph.D. study in organic chemistry from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom , under the the Colombo Plan Scholarship, and subsequently had post-doctoral training in organometallic chemistry from Cornell University , USA .

He first became aware of the deficient health and diets of rural Thais while conducting a countrywide nutritional survey in 1960.
