4. Once we have thoroughly went over the instructions each student will be given a voter registration card. Together we will go through and fill out the card. Once the cards are filled out I will tell the students that I am mailing them out. In a couple of weeks they will receive their registration proof in the mail. (I will copy one for the students). 5. CLOSURE: To end the lesson I will have the students write in their journal about how filling out the voter registration card made them fill. Did they feel like they were gaining a privilege? Did they feel like a citizen? They will also write down why it is important to register to vote in their own words. F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding? I will use the students journal entry to measure the students understanding. Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. I will know the students understand the concepts from the lesson if their response in their journal entry matches what they learned in the lecture. G. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? I think the easiest thing to teach will be going over the voter registration card. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? I think the most challenging part to teach will be why registering to vote is important. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? I will have students discuss registering to vote with their parents and have students jot down why their parents think it is important to register to vote and ask their parents if they are registered to vote. 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? For students that do not grasp the concept I can individual help them through oneon-one help. I will go up to the student and go over instructions more in detail. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I dont think any part of the lesson should be changed. 6. The most difficult part of writing this lesson was finding a standard that matched what I was going over. Im not sure if my standard went that well with what I was going over.
