WHAT: Wiener Dog Race WHERE: Muscatine Riverfront WHEN: Saturday, July 27 Registration @ 1:00pm Races to Follow COST: Its Free!
Individual heats will be run (based on number of entries) with each heat winner receiving a prize. Top three finishers will receive cash, trophies, prizes and Top Dog will also receive a Dachshund Isabel Bloom courtesy of Millers Florist. 1st Place Overall - $100 cash, trophy, Isabel Bloom, gift basket 2nd Place Overall - $50 cash, trophy, gift basket 3rd Place Overall - $25 cash, trophy, gift basket All entries will receive a free Little Joe Pizza courtesy of Happy Joes.

In consideration of my participation in the 4th Annual Great River Days Wiener Dog Races, I waive the organizers, property owners, sponsors & all competitors for damages or injuries to myself or my pet during the event. I also verify that my dog is current on all required vaccinations and has a current City of Muscatine pet license. I will permit free use of pictures in broadcasts, newsletters and other media coverage.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Races begin promptly at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 27th, 2013 All dogs must be a certified Dachshund (wiener dog). They DO NOT have to be AKC registered, but vet records must indicate Dachshund for breed. All dogs must be current on required vaccinations. All Muscatine dogs must have current City of Muscatine pet license.

All dogs must be on a leash when not racing.

4th Annual Great River Days Wiener Doggy Dash!

Owners are required to clean up after their dog. Two owners are required for the race one at the beginning and one at the end. Owners may use toys, food, whistling, calling, or any humane means to get their dogs to race. Dogs will race in a 50-ft straight line in a fenced in grassy area. Water will be available before and after the race. First place dogs from each heat will advance to final heat. No inhumane treatment will be allowed or tolerated. Dogs and owners are expected to be on their best behavior (no fighting, biting, bullying). Judges decisions are final.
