Summary of Lesson Plan
This social studies lesson is designed to introduce 2nd graders to the concept of American symbols, monuments, and landmarks and explains their importance. This lesson uses the 2nd Grade Houghten Mifflin Social Studies textbook Neighborhoods (p. 136141) This social studies lesson is designed for 2nd grade students to develop an understanding of the meaning of the U.S. Flag and the Pledge of Allegiance and how they represent our American beliefs.
