4. CLOSURE: In closing I will explain to students that there is many possible sources people use to form an opinion. It is a good idea to research the information using reliable sources, rather than listening to the media and word of mouth. Then will log out of the computers, clean up any messes and return to the classroom. F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding? I will use class discussion, and group projects/presentations to measure student understanding. Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. I will know whether the students understand the concepts of this lesson by paying close attention to their answers during whole class discussion, and grading their group research projects. G. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? I think the easiest portion to teach will be giving the instructions. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? I think the most challenging part will be teaching the students the difference between reliable and unreliable sources. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? I will extend this lesson by having students play the game telephone. In which they can see how the message gets distorted and can be deemed unreliable. 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? If students do not grasp the concepts I will work with them more closely as the class works on this research project. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I may need to go more in depth about the sources people use for information. 6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part? The most difficult part of writing this lesson was making the lesson kid friendly. Resources: http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/top-teaching/2010/11/reliable-sources-and-citations
