Mr.G.A.L. Kumarasiri

Mr.G.A.L. Kumarasiri is a person who is greatly committed

to his work as a teacher. He contributes much for the
development of our country.
His full name is Godakanda Arachchige Lalith Kumarasiri.
He was born at ‘Godakanda’ in Galle. Now he is 38 years
old. He was born on the 6th of October in 1971. 6th of
October is the ‘Universal teacher’s day’. So he is happy to
be born on that day.
His father’s name is Mr.G.A. Wilbert. His father is a retired
estate officer. His mother’s name is Mrs.H.B. Pathirana.
She is house wife. He has a brother and two sisters.
Altogether there are five members in his family with him.
He has attended to ‘Uluvitike Maha Vidyalaya’ to get
education. And he has also gone to ‘Mahinda College
Galle’ to do O/L. The bad situation in the country when he
is doing A/L affected him very much. He did the 1st shy in
science, but he then did the 2nd shy in arts. He got good
results in the 2nd shy. So he could go to university.
The best friend of him is Mr. Sanjeewa. They have had lot
of wonderful incidents together. He hasn’t attended any
tution class till A/L. During his period of getting education
there are some unforgettable incidents. One of them is
getting 100 out of 100 for ‘Education Methodology’ which
is a very difficult subject during his training period as a
teacher. Mr.G.A.L. Kumarasiri has got his 1st appointment
to ‘Katharagama Central College’. Then he came to
‘Richmond College Galle’ in 2003.
Now he is a teacher at ‘Richmond College Galle’. His wife
is Mrs. Sandya Kuruwita. She is also a teacher. Mr.G.A.L.
Kumarasiri has two children named ‘Tharushi Amaya
Kumarasiri’ and ‘Tharusha Isith Kumarasiri’. Now his
profession is teaching. He teaches Geography, History,
Citizenship Education and English.
He is involved in other extracurricular activities too. He is
the master in charge of the ‘Media Unit’ of our school. He
is involved in making the big math souvenirs. And also he
is a member of the ‘British Council’ programme too.He is
now a good teacher as well as a tution master. We must
be thankful to him to coming for an interview with us to
shear hi by gone past with us. We wish him a good
future.
