[Background]

IEEE-NFC-IE&FR FAISALABAD is a student body that organizes activities of interest for young engineers. IEEE NFC student branch was inaugurated on 10th of January 2009. It is very active in the promoting the application of sciences and technology and stimulates the students to make technology part of their lives by organizing seminars, talks, panel discussions, group discussions, hardware and software engineering competitions and quizzes, tours to the industry, geek races and other events.

[Mission]
The objective is to have a mega technical event hosted by IEEE NFC & ASME NFC for the first time in institute history, a step to make NFC IEFR center of excellence in technological and didactic engineering events. Institutes from all over Pakistan are the intended to participate in this mega event. This interactive competition will combine technical input, personal effectiveness and practical hands on experiences. This will ensure that delegates go away with skills to enable them and their teams to perform at the peak of their abilities.

[Achievements]
IEEE NFC IE&FR: IEEE NFC started its work form the very first day and due to the dedication of respected counselor and the students we achieved a lot since IEEE Student Branch was inaugurated in 2009. Here we have mentioned our achievements of past year 2012 and recent achievements of 2013.

Achievements of the year 2012:


1. Chair Person IEEE NFC Faisalabad, Anwar Ahmed Sabri got the best volunteer award and this award presented by Dr. Khawar Zia, Chair IEEE Lahore Section 2. Chair Person IEEE NFC Faisalabad, Anwar Ahmed Sabri got the best volunteer award named as Abdul Sattar Edhi International Volunteer by IEEE RDP Pakistan and this award presented by Dr. Shukat Hameed Khan". He is a Pakistani nuclear physicist. He is the Ex-Rector of GIKI. He also worked with Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission. 3. We won IEEE Day Global Photo Contest. Only 10 teams were selected from all over the world and only 2 pictures were selected from Region 10. Following picture was selected for award.

4. At Annual General Meeting of IEEE Lahore Section held on 29th December 2012, IEEE WIE NFC Affinity Group got the "Best WIE Affinity group" in IEEE Lahore Section.

5. At Annual General Meeting of IEEE Lahore Section held on 29th December 2012, Chair WIE NFC Affinity group & also the Section student representative, Rabail Raza got the Best IEEE Student Volunteer from IEEE Lahore Section

Achievements of the year 2013:


1. Chairperson of IEEE NFC Ali Hassan Raza along with V.Chair Umair mutarraf are selected as an executive members of IEEE Research and Development Program Pakistan, they are currently working as Manager Marketing and Content Manger for IEEE RDP Pakistan. 2. IEEE NFC got first position in online Digisketch Competition organized by GCUL. 3. Two research based articles were selected from our branch and they were published in the newsletter of IEEE RDP Pakistan. 4. Got 300 US $ form IEEE USA for the Conduction of S-pave. 5. Got 200 US $ form IEEE USA for the Conduction of S-pac. 6. IEEE NFC got third position in Speak it up competition which was held at GIKI in 2013.

[Theme]
NFC is one of the most ambitious engineering institutes of Pakistan. NFC Institute of Engineering & Fertilizer Research is envisaged to grow as a modern center of excellence for research and development in the fields of sciences, engineering and technologies. The main theme of this event is to achieve the excellence of bringing maximum number of Engineering universities and institutes at NFC IE&FR and to stimulates the students to make technology part of their lives by organizing seminars, talks, panel discussions, group discussions, hardware and software engineering competitions and quizzes by collaborating two societies IEEE NFC and ASME NFC for the first time in the history of NFC IE&FR.

[Demographics]
The delegates consist of students from major engineering universities across Pakistan who shares a genuine interest in sustainable development and lifestyle. All delegates are in engineering programs. The participants comprises of UET Lahore, UET Peshawar, UET Taxila, UET KSK, GIKI, NUST, NED Karachi, QUEST, NFC IE&FR, IST Islamabad, SZABIST Karachi & HITEC Taxila.

[Details of Events]
IEEE NFC and ASME NFC student branch is arranging a mega event on 28th of May 2013 which will continue for three days at NFC Institute of Fertilizer and Research Faisalabad. This interactive competition will combine technical input, personal effectiveness and practical hands on experiences. This will ensure that delegates go away with skills to enable them and their teams to perform at the peak of their abilities. The events in this mega event will comprise of both mechanical and electrical events. Seminars and social events will be combining to provide full joy and entertainment for participants guests from all over Pakistan.

ORIENTATION
All the participants will be gathered in the NFC IE&FRs auditorium. There they will be given a welcome speech and brief introduction to NFC IE&FR & its history with IEEE and ASME. The keynote address will also be given in the orientation ceremony.

OPENING CEREMONY
This event will be one of the unique events in the history of NFC IE&FR and among all the events organized by other Student Branches of both IEEE and ASME. This ceremony will be resembling the Olympics opening ceremony in which participants from all over the world are gathered with their unique identity which is expressed by their country flag and their dress , on the same pattern all participants of Emech-Technowar'13 will have their own flags and T-shirts representing their University, each team will carry the flag and will take a round from the marked points in front of the audience(spot light will continuously following each team) and at the end they will fix their flag on the marked end point and this ceremony will conclude its ending by fireworks.

Speed wiring Competition


The world is passing us by in a blur, its all about speed and those who cant keep up are left behind. Were putting to test the swift and deft touch of our young technicians. The scraping of metal wires the flash of Leds and a race against the clock.

Future Ideas
This is an ideas based presentation competition. One of the main purposes of the competition is to support education, engineering, science and technology in Pakistan. There is a great chance for students, young scientists and engineers to share knowledge about modern technologies, science research areas, industry applications and other related subjects. Each team of participants will give presentations on their ideas which will be geared towards providing solutions to real world problems. They will be judged on their communication efficiency, problem analysis and effectiveness of solution.

Mind Wobble
It is technological quiz, based on engineering concepts and theories. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. There are total 4 Rounds. Written MCQS. Test Round Dumb Charades Round Time Speed Round Subject Selection Round

Pace Race
It is programming competition based on daily life problems. Maximum of 15 teams are allowed There can be a total of max three members in a team. Teams are ranked according to Speed

Techno Brain Competition.


The aim of this competition is to judge the problem solving skills of the student. We except that participant have a good understanding of the basic circuit designing concepts. The competition is divided into two rounds, one is written and the other one is practical hardware based. It is necessary to get good position to qualify the second round.

Idea Extreme Competition


In this competition participants from different universities are required to come up with the wild and speculative ideas concerning the novel application of engineering and I.T in the future.

Technical presentation
In this competition participants from different universities are required to come up with the innovative and speculative ideas concerning the main stream applications of Mechanical and Mechatronics in the form of power point presentation.

3D Cad design
In this competition the participants have to design 3D object within 40-45 minutes

Paindu Night
This will be night of full joy and entertainment for the participants from different universities, school and colleges. This night will comprise of video competitions, drama competition, T-shirt competition, singing competitions, fashion flare, concert and lots more entertaining social events.

Project Exhibition
The Competition is meant to accommodate projects from Electrical engineering and Computer sciences from being participated by different engineering institutions belonging to following groups of disciplines.

Desert Rally
This event will be a unique of its kind and here in this event participants will show their talent by driving automobiles on the most challenging track.

AWARDS CEREMONY
The closing ceremony will be held on the final day of the event. First, a speech will be delivered by the event coordinator then by a member of the IEEE,ASME administration NFC IE&FR. This event is to conclude the Emech-Technowar'13 by giving away prizes & certificates to the winners and the participants.
