NATIONAL HERITAGE CORRIDOR ACT Washington , D.C.
Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (D-GA02) announced today that the U.S. House
of Representatives approved the Chattahoochee Trace National Heritage Corridor
Act. The legislation authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to study the suitability
and feasibility of designating as a National Heritage Area eleven Georgia and seven
Alabama counties known as the Chattahoochee Trace. Such a designation would
make the region eligible to receive funding for publications and marketing for
tourism, historic preservation, environmental education, outdoor recreation and
small business development.
"The Chattahoochee Trace region has been touched by nearly every era in early
American history and has served as one of the South's most important transporta-
tion routes, been an engine for commerce and is a vital natural and recreational
resource." Bishop said.

REUNION
April 24-25, 2008
The Dixie Community Center is proud to host a
reunion for all former students, faculty, and
friends of Westbrook School on April 24-25 in
Dixie, Georgia. The reunion will consist of three
events: a casual get-together, an open house at
the school, and a reunion party.
The casual get-together on Friday will be held
from 7-11pm at the home of Elizabeth Jones in
Dixie. Ms. Jones is a former faculty member,
Westbrook parent, and longtime Dixie resident.
Appetizers, beer & wine will be provided along
with live music from local musicians. The Open
House and picnic will be held at Westbrook
School from 11am-3pm on Saturday. There will
be barbeque available for purchase from
Thompson Farms (Owner Andrew Thompson is
a Westbrook alumnus), or you may bring your
own picnic lunch. There will be bounce houses
and games available for the children. Since the
two evening events are intended for adults, the
planning committee is encouraging people to
bring their children to this afternoon event.
The Reunion Party will begin at 7 pm in the
Westbrook Gymnasium. The party will feature
heavy hors d’oeuvres from Carter’s Catering
(Lacey Dewitt Carter, Westbrook Class of ‘02),
full bar, and music by Mobile-based party band,
Hotwire. Tickets for the entire weekend are $50
per person (includes all three events). Tickets
may be purchased at Citizens National Bank in
Quitman or by check made payable to
Westbrook Reunion at P.O. Box 332, Quitman,
Georgia 31643. Tickets must be purchased by
April 11 and will not be sold at the door.

Brooks County Christian School and served the
