Statement of Purpose

With an aim to pursue an engineering degree. I would like to do a masters from your university. I believe the university offers great infrastructure which is imperative for intellectual growth. I have nurtured a strong passion to become an innovative engineer. I have always adopted an empirical approach in order to attain an in-depth understanding of the subject. This is amply reflected in my pursuing B.Tech degree in the stream of Instrumentation Engineering from the Department of Instrumentation Engineering, Kurukshetra University. The course work during my B.Tech stream has given me exposure on wide range of engineering concepts with courses in Mathematics, Power electronics, embedded system, and control & simulation. I have excelled in our comprehensive and exacting undergraduate programme and have developed a solid background. I took up various technical courses and participated in workshops. My pursuits include a Diploma in Computer aided Designing, Basics of Core-java, Programing of PLC, HMI and concepts of electrical drives. I was successfully able to complete a minor project involving control of a car based on microcontroller using resistive touch screen. Currently I am working on my major academic project Intelligent Traffic Light Control under the guidance of my mentor Sh. Gagandeep Singh Gill. I have successfully undergone industrial trainings in IOCL and JCBL to further strengthen my abilities and understanding of the practical aspects of engineering in process industries. In my quest for success and fulfilment through excellence, complemented with conceptual and practical knowledge and experience, has not contained my participation in extra-curricular activities. I am working as part time engineer in my fathers business, enthusiastically engaged in all the departments. I have organised and participated in the college knock out cricket tournament, I have also coordinated a Brain-buzz event in our college. I have over the past few months, tried to analyse my reasons for considering a career in the field of electrical and computer engineering. I am already involved in the running of my family business for the last 2 year along with studies, yet I have decided to go on for post graduate studies which call for a personal commitment. My job profile requires me to introduce new techniques and equipment's on a

regular basis. My perception is that no business establishment should depend on a single product. To this end I wish to undertake a gradual but definite diversification of the existing business. I envisage the program at the univ will facilitate that growth. Canada has one of the best education systems in the world in terms of quality and infrastructure. In todays dynamic world of technology only those with a broad knowledge base and a superior skill set can hope to scale the heights of excellence. In my opinion a graduate education from a prestigious Canadian Institute, such as yours, is the most logical path towards evolving into a complete engineering professional. I would like to reiterate that I possess the background, the ability and the motivation to make a significant contribution to the electrical and computer engineering fields. Aniket Vashisht
