INTRODUCTION

The system we will develop is Project Evaluation System (PES) who is also special page for the management of the final project at the Polytechnic Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin. Initially, the project marks recorded manually by using the four forms of the project marks a record form, the form of a proposal and prototype marks, marks the final report form, and form presentation marks. We agree to develop web applications based Project Evaluation System (PES) This system aims to facilitate the process of recorded marks and update marks by the assessors and their supervisors. This system will also be used by students to fill out personal information and title of project proposal. Students can also check to view their supervisor. Assessor will divide their supervisors to each group after students complete their information. The software will be used to develop this system is Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, MX 2004. For the database we will use MySQL, Apache and web server XAMP. With this system exists, the task of recording the score is done by the assessor and the supervisor will be more easily, accurately and quickly.

1.2 PROBLEM STATEMENTS

There were some problems during the process of recording marks final project. Among these are :i.

The process of divide student followed by their supervisor and assessor at a same time have a long time because the supervisor and assessor are divided not a same time .

Supervisor difficult to give comment based on student project title. The student difficult to check their project title. There can be happen some mistakes in manual project mark calculation.

1.3 PROJECT SIGNIFICANCE

The importance of developing this project is to prevent the possibility of error in the computation of scores of projects. Supervisors and assessors only need to enter the scores for each criteria in the form to the project presentation, final report and proposals and prototypes without having to calculate the overall score. This Project Evaluation System(PeS) will calculates the overall score based on scores entered by the supervisor and assessor and then it will be displayed on the project mark record form. The supervisor, assessor, student and project coordinator are the person that will get the benefit from this project. Supervisors no longer need to calculate the overall score the project and they can check the students information quickly. Student can be distributed by project coordinator followed by their supervisors. Students will be able to know the name of the supervisor through online.

The motivation or impetus to the production of this project is the possibility of errors in calculating the overall score the project. 1.4 OBJECTIVES PROJECT

Among the objectives of the project is :i.

To divide student followed by their supervisor and assessor at a same time and more easily.

Supervisor can give comment based on student project title easier. To assist the student to check their project title comment. To ensure no mistakes and negligence in the calculation of the project marks.

1.5 PROJECT SCOPE

1.5.1 System Scope i. ii. iii. This system affords to calculate the overall project mark. It can generate and print report about the project marks and other information. The system can add, save, delete and update data.
