Group Case Study
1) General Overview This Module requires the students to work in teams of four (4) to: 1) Analyse the Case Study scenario including interviewing designated members of staff who will role play. 2) Produce Project Management Documentation 3) Produce a Detailed Analysis Documentation 4) Produce a Requirements Specification for a solution 5) Produce a Design 6) Produce a Functioning Prototype solution together with relevant system and user documentation 7) Organize and Document Regular Group Meetings - these can be in the timetabled classes and / or other times as convenient, however, the group will need to produce Weekly Logbook enteries. 8) Make Presentations as a group, interim and final presentations 9) Each team member is required to produce a Critical Report of the process and outcomes 2) Module Assessment Assessment for the module for each student will be based on the following: 1) A group mark. This is modearted for individual students by peer group assessment. 2) Individual marks from presentations. 3) An individual report which critically appraises the process of the group and the final product. The aims of the Systems Analysis and Design is to show that you understood the problem and have a clear idea of what you intend to produce: 1) While the old system is important as a reference you should put your efforts into explaining the new system and how it will meet the requirements specified. 2) You should have been introduced to several methodologies while on your course and you are at liberty to use whatever tools and techniques you feel appropriate. 3) However the aim is to explain your proposed solution and it will be marked against the following marking scheme. 5) Interim Presentation Individual Marks 5%

Each group will be allocated a 20 minute slot, 5% of the marks will be allocated to the group but only those group members who actively contribute will receive the marks. 6) Log Book Individual Marks 5%
